  1. the cheapie ebay coil overs are nice if you want handling be advised though... the ride WILL be rougher.
  2. it looks like this one....... and only slightly not as pretty.
  3. I am feelin poetic. if I cannot get it given to me what should I offer for it. most he will get out of it is scrap price. (or it's jumpseats sold to go in a chevy.... ugh) I want to save it. I may want to save it, get it running and sell it to a good home. I may love it. I may hate it but it shouldn't sit. weber has a direct bolt on replacement?
  4. so my uncle has a junkyard........ and in it is a BRAT. it was my great uncles. so we can get a title. my uncle is being tight about it but hell it's just sittin getting more rusty. (and less and less likely to run) my great uncle told me it had carb issues and was surprised I even liked it. the kicker is I remember sitting in the jump seat as a kid........ it's one of my first memories. what's the easiest way to replace the carb? and by easiest I mean simplest/cheapest/least headake I am going to see if my great uncle to get my not-so-great uncle to give me the brat, lol cause I don't want it to get crushed for crushing's sake,. what's a brat worth in scrap? maybe I can get it that way. 78 BRAT same year I was born... lol
  5. Rob.. I know you know what you are doing so don't take this wrong. but a narrow band is just for fun... wideband will let you know what's going on. I wouldn't trust a narrowband any further than I could throw your RX.
  6. it's on the top of my list.. in fact if frankenwedge wasn't going I might stay home. but an EG33 is going to be a hell of a shoe horn job on my base XT. and by the dragon the 2.5 will be mine and at my house... 170 hp is going to make my lightweight XT DL fly like all hell's breakin loose.
  7. I wouldn't race an xt with an SVX engine it adds weight to the front (nor would I race an SVX too heavy) I am going with the ej25 from the 2.5RS in my XT.. 165HP and won't change my wieght balance (I won't be hard core racing it but auto-x and rally are almost for certain) any EJ four banger will make your weight balance better. I have heard the EG33 is awesome in the car but I would be afraid of too much push in the front. come on over to http://www.subaruxt.com there's plenty of info on an EG33 in an XT6 over there.
  8. there are small pics in my photos here's my photobucket http://s186.photobucket.com/albums/x135/alcyonequest/?special_track=nav_tab_album I can get specific pics tomorrow.
  9. not sure what the size is but I have some for my 86 XT
  10. what would I need for my XT? it has no gutters and no door frames?? do the make anything? I'd like a rack if I coul put it on and take it off.
  11. we don't need no ugly truck!
  12. BFH is my favorite tool!
  13. thaz it?? I figured the hatch crew would be all over this! the Starion forum I'm on one of the members owns Jackies mitsu from CBRII
  14. I've done axles on escorts and eclipses.. never had trouble getting hem back in. getting them out has always been another story. I think you are onto something with how you got the other side in. use lots of penetrating oil, for the piece that goes through to the hub. and it couldn't hurt to beat on the diff side with a 2X4 and hammer. just push the slack out of it before you strike it. so you don't clank the axle inners together.
  15. I have steam out the tail pipe now.
  16. a fan can work and still be weak... not necessarily the answer.. but I'd start there.
  17. come on Jackie Chan.. http://www.wizarduniverse.com/050608topcars.html hatch!
  18. a little off topic how much was the turbo crate motor??
  19. wiggle it... just a little bit you got any lube on that sucka... you know, Kentucky Jelly? I'd try attaching the diff ends and lift the diff again.
  20. sweet pics in that link thank you!
  21. oh and if I have to add the center bearing it'll be alright... I'll just take pics of the tabs for whoever does the welding.
  22. I have read several write ups.. I am hoping to do a one-piece drive shaft (welded and rebalanced) and then the mustache bars are just long bolts added. so I am prepared there. I will either wind up AWD or Fulltime D/R or RWD.. just depends on how things play out. in other words anything but Front Wheel drive... lol
  23. hmm..... I am impressed with alot of you and you lack of concern for the looks of your vehicle. I guess it goes hand and hand with off-roading. (the wheels and tires in the back look bad-rump roast!
  24. very cool!!!!!!!
