  3. What about shaving the heads down a .001 or .002 increase compression a little . would probably make a non interference engine into a interference one but what about belt tension would it be effected by the change anyone tried it?
  4. Try your local technical college if they have an autobody course (and I'm pretty sure they do ) you may possibly get it done for the price of materials.
  5. My brat just keeps getting better and better with every mod I do. I tell my 7yr old he can have it when he turns 16, and if there is no more gas we'll just have to go electric. I call it my japimino ( no offense intended)
  6. Clutch is located between the engine and trans. I had a 4spd out of my brat that got stuck in 3rd the problem was probably a bent shift fork or bad syncro but was not clutch related. If I have to go to a mechanic ( never had to for my sub ) I would request to keep any parts that were replaced.

  10. my mother has an 05 and she already had to replace hers but I think it was under warrantie 2300 does sound a bit high about 2299 high lol
  11. why would you only lift the rear. brats already have a pretty severe rake to them. I lifted the front 5" and the back is just 3 3/4" to get a more level look.
  12. 5/16 or 3/8 yeah I may have over done it a bit but I had most of the metal lying around so all it really cost me was time/effort. I want to do the same with a hatch but go like 7" this time.I still need to fix the camber will probably build some custom control arms or use some ea82 similar to what phizinza did.

Thanks the exhaust sounds really good, nice and loud but it must not be too loud cuz I havn't been pulled over yet (knock on wood) but it scares the deer away b4 I get to them. when I do my ejconversion this spring is when I will get the full benefit of it. A k&n filter and a open exhaust does wonders for the stock 1.8 with 250,000 miles but when I added the 15 inch 6 bolts it really needs abit more hp.http://img532.imageshack.us/img532/1337/096mn5.flv heres what it sounds like

  17. OH I DO NOT GIVE UP! Maybe I should have been a bit clearer on my original post The part that is broken is in the latching mechanism itself all the linkage is functional up to the actual latch. My only question was if they were compatible ea81 to ea82 doesn't matter now anyway tommorrow Ill be taking that drive cuz as I remember it that jyard has a turboed ea82 that I am going to try to get the rear disc from.Thanks for the encouragement and the offer of parts but for now I'm good but that doesn't mean I won't need somthing in the future:rolleyes:
