BF Goodrich All-Terrains
For the use you are describing BF all terains are the perfect tire I ran them on my full size bronco, rotated regularly they lasted five years on a daily driver! the tire I was running was 11.50 inches wide and I had no problems with hydroplaning until the tires became pretty worn out. so they disperse water pretty well I plan on buying them for my brat and a new set ffor the bronco as for their design being old, well I see a couple of brands that are still copying their tread design. and their price seems pretty comparible to the other name brands.

Camper/Trailer
woundedbrat replied to Subaru_Aloo's topic in 1990 to Present Legacy, Impreza, Outback, Forester, Baja, WRX&WrxSTI, SVXI like the little teardops, I think that for weekend camping with a tent they're a good idea, If you reserve the cab bed for late night arrivals or severe weather, and generally use a tent, you have the gally for prep but will most likely be cooking on the barbeque. previous suggesstions are very valid. A teardrop with a popup cloth section with proper lower ventilation maybe a ea81 subaru rear suspension have to fire up the welder

cheap, free, or trade for weld help. WA
The back is probably do able but if you chop the front you will not have room for the radiator or fans. I have seen the radiator mounted on the under side of the hood on wagons with a 6 cylinder conversion but I beleive they were also lifted so they had more room. welding sheet metal is tricky you have to do it in small sections to keep from warping the thin metal. You should think about taking a class at a tech school then you could do it yourself.

Crunch!
I assume by nail gun you are referring to a device that spot welds studs to the sheet metal. a slide hammer can be then used to attach to the studs and pull the dent out ? what would one of those be worth as i spotted one at a local pawn shop.
-
Crunch!
The good is that you have access through the tail light the bad is you hit on a corner. what I would do and have done in the past is drill some holes on the very corner insert an eye bolt with a washer and nut, back up close to a tree or something immobile and use a come along to pull the dent out to as close to the original position as possible. from their it is a matter of massaging the metal with a hammer and something to back the blows . most chiltons or haynes have a small auto body repair section in the back which may give you a better idea of what I am talking about.

My Brat so far.... (56k go away)
In the rear you don't need to do extension's you can just remove the lines from their last "holder" and bend them so they reach.

So my Subaru sounds like a diesel!
woundedbrat replied to njdrsubaru's topic in 1990 to Present Legacy, Impreza, Outback, Forester, Baja, WRX&WrxSTI, SVXI have the same car. This winter after driving it a while at highway speeds I had the same experience. car was idling and I was outside, sounded pretty bad knocky well at the time I was at a j/y getting parts for a rear disk swap(ftw)for me brat. the owner of the junkyard heard the noise too he's all what weight oil are you running I said 10w30 he shakes his head and says these motors don't like the heavier oils 5w30 all you need. long story short treated with seafoam and changed the oil to 5w30 and no noise since. take it or leave it good luck with your car.

clutch ?
What is the reason for using a ea81 fly wheel on a ej conversion? does the ej fly wheel not fit in bell housing or is it the alignment of the starter. just curious I have a 5spd dual range turbo tranny from an rx and am planning ej swap and I want the best clutch possible.

new project lifted EA82 with EJ22 and no computer
My thoughts exactly only my car is a carbed ea81 so there would be a little more to it. SPFI would be the way to go. Also curious how you closed off the original injector holes? love this thread just picked up a strong running ej yesterday so swap will be coming soon.
