  1. 'Chux, do you have a P/N or dims for that reamer?
  2. As far as USDM EA82 cars go, it seems like anything could be spec'ed with a limited slip, from a DL sedan up to an XT6.
  3. I cannot help with this issue, but a Subaru collector you say?... Go on...
  4. Pull the dang battery out of the car if you're afraid of it being stolen....
  5. Who me? I'm currently pushing the stock 14 psi on my EJ20G, soon to be up to 18 psi. Do all your hard pipes have a lip or bead? If not, that's your problem. Once adequately tightened it is basically impossible to blow a worm gear clamp off a properly beaded hard pipe. Are you running 36 psi or a compound charger setup? T-bolt clamps are nice, but they can unevenly clamp around the diameter of the hose, they're heavier, more expensive. Run them if you want (I do on the above set up) but it's honestly an unnecessary expense.
  6. Normal worm gear clamps should be more than adequate on any pipe that has a lip or bead rolled into it. Don't reuse the wire clamps, at this age.
  7. Ignore @GeneralDisorder, he just wants to see the world rid of all vintage Subarus...
  8. Not the case if you've stockpiled the old, black Tokyo Roki filters!
  9. Do any of those engines run? I have a 1400 that is seized and would like a drop in replacement to just be able to move the car around.
  10. While we're also interested in being able to tweak tunes ourselves, my plan is to get a protune first, then study, study, study to get more knowledge about self-tuning.
  11. Oh boy... First thing I would do is not adjust anything just yet. Jump over to the "Engine Management and Tuning" forum over on NASIOC. You have much to learn before you start reprogramming your ECU. (To start off, you're not even logging the appropriate channels.)
  12. I get that you're trying to keep people from "wasting their time and money" but dang, who is going to keep the EA flame burning if you keep telling everyone they're trash!? (At least let them start a project that we can swoop in later and buy for cheap!)
  13. Time to start lobbying manufacturers to keep supporting these platforms... Or convert to aftermarket coilovers.
  14. EJ-swap for life! I've never done one myself, but I do have an EJ20G swapped RX. They should have come this way from the factory!
  15. The heads are already cast, they're not forged or anything fancy...
  16. Woof, old thread! I'm pretty sure Crossbred are out of business.
  17. Sigh, I don't have one of those bore gauges, just some cheapo HF calipers... Looks like the WRX will be down for about a week once I pull the trigger on this.
  18. Well now you have me worried about my knuckles! Considering how quickly these replacement bearings failed, the shop that pressed them in either damaged the bearings themselves, or ruined my knuckles. I literally started hearing the rotor contacting the brake caliper within 5,000 miles...
  19. Topics I need info on: 2002 WRX: front wheel bearings Fuel Smell 1999 Forester: timing belt change You can email the files to: car_freak85 at Hotmail dot com Thanks!
  20. Since we don't have ready access to The End Wrench or individual Subaru technical service bulletins, I was wondering if anyone had the TIB that provides information on the front wheel bearing installation. I have a feeling that my local mom & pop garage that I take the hubs/bearings/spindles to is buggering up the installation, causing my front bearings to only last a few thousand miles before making noise. @GeneralDisorder Is this something you have access to? I'm not opposed to buying the correct tool to do this at home, if someone has recommendations.
  21. Do you folks offer this service and if yes, what is the cost? I don't trust myself to do that correctly... Are there any modifications/tweaks we could do to add, say, 20 hp without braking the bank? (We load this car up and do a lot of mountain driving).
