First lifted run (PICS)
peepl dont want to sell/mount the tires for you, they get all freaked out when you say subaru, and mt, or truck tire.

will a ea81 radiator mount into a 87 wagon?
i believe it would, i run an ea82 radiator in my ea81 hatch, and all i did was redrill holes, you could redrill the bottom rubber mount holes too. im pretty sure it'll fit with a bit of drilling. i like the ea81s, they hold more fluid

XT6 Dyno results with Dynomax Ultra Flow SS Muffler
thats cool it stays so level it thought it would dip and rise alot more than that. with a turbo it would be better to be where you are, but with a little leaner mix, you probably would have seen higher numbers.

motor questions
8.5 to 1 would be great for turbo as far as im concerned. but the problem is you'll have to crack open that fresh damn near new motor, and stick the turbo heads on it. the turbo manifold wont bolt up, to the na block. you either need to run it with the carb on the top, or swap heads.

Volvo 760 Intercooler?
ya, or a for probe/mazda fmic, they are all aluminum.

Volvo 760 Intercooler?
wont fit, unless you put if up front. then you get more problems to sort out. but those intercoolers flow relatively well for stock units, and they are good for 20 lbs all day long.

subaru trivia time, maybe stump the chumps
that was it, i had no idea it actualy moved the stinkin throttle pedal, i thought it only messed with something on the carb. i damn near blew the car up wish i had been looking at the rpms. the heater controll vac hose comes out right next to the cruise one. you win brat rear bump stop(well used)! i trimmed the cable earlier, so it has more throw.

subaru trivia time, maybe stump the chumps
pedal was fine, untill it started, then it went to the floor.

subaru trivia time, maybe stump the chumps
ok this might be an easy one for you guys, but im bored. ok so i put some mpfi into my 85 carbureted wagon. i took most of the stock stuff out of the engine compartment that i wouldn need for the efi system im runing, no more canister, ac, power steering, did away with alot of stuff. got it installed, got it all wired up, hooked up the one vac line that goes from teh car to the engine to give my heater controlls vaccume. i start the car and it starts great, then procedes to rev to the moon. i shut her down look at throttle linkages, vac lines in the way, that could have hung it up, nothing. try again and it goes to the moon again. at this point im thinking all kinds of stuff... after checking a few lines i figured out my problem. can you tell me what i did to make my car do this?

Im in a WORLD OF HURT... My 88 XT died
the mpfi stuff wont bolt up to spfi stuff. the turbo motors would work, your computer is the same as turbo computer, the xmember would have to go in the car with the engine tho, to make room for the turbo exhaust. or get one of the spfi blocks, and put your heads on it, higher compression =]

front strut isn't bolted?
i agree, thats a major part, that basicaly holds your wheel on. i have to imagine its not doing anything when the wheel goes down, just free travel.

What NOT to do...
i dont pay these kinds of threads much mind, anybody can blow a head gasket in 17k miles if they are trying to. you can turn your boost up too high and accomplish this very easily. factory gaskets are great, im sure, but i've had no problems runing after market stuff. granted im not runin high boost and givin her the boot every change i get either.

solid motor mounts
hope not, but i ran it for the first time yesterday. vibs at idle were noticeable, but reving it up didnt seem worse. havent offroaded, or top speed tested it yet tho. its pretty cool to grab the oil fill tube, and shake the crap out of your car, instead of just the engine. car twists, when you rev it, instead of motor jumpin up. i'll chime in again when i get 1k on it.

What NOT to do...
outruning modded wrx's huh? why is that hard to believe? your mods list doesnt seem to be long enough to do that. unless you were racin 16 year olds

Exhaust mod for ea82 carbed *please help*
all i know for sure is 1 7/8 from the head back, straight piped sucks alot. no low end at all, and not much of a reward up top to justify it.

Exhaust mod for ea82 carbed *please help*

using the vent line for return
speakin of cool, this part of the forum should be great!
-
using the vent line for return
its metal from the engine bay, back to the tank, then has a two 3 inch rubber sections. i replaced the old low pressure lines. just like i had to do to the pressure side. i run my gas cap vented, thought, it doesnt realy seem to make any difference.

Legacy vs. Camry
archemitis replied to viceversa's topic in 1990 to Present Legacy, Impreza, Outback, Forester, Baja, WRX&WrxSTI, SVXi can say from experience that toyotas are always harder to work on than subarus. and transverse engines... i dont like them, expecialy for changing a clutch. a legacy is a huge jump from a loyale

using the vent line for return
i stuck 1985 mpfi into my 85 carb wagon this weekend, i did it the same way i did on the hatch, except this time i noticed i have been using the vent line as the return. the vent is bigger for some reason, and works great. the stock carbureted return line is too small. just thought id let everybody know its easier than runing new lines =]

EA82 running with no fuel pump
i dont believe it one bit
-
EA82 running with no fuel pump
it cant get fuel from below the carb up to the carb witout some kind of pump. you must have tested it wrong. gravity doesnt work like that.
