Aside from 90-94 EJ22's, are there any other non-interference EJ's?

Timing belts? Dirty injectors? Fuel filter? My 87 wagon did almost the same thing last summer when temperatures got up around 90ish, but its carbed and it dieseled.

I'd be down for a convoy too, I might even have to put a cb in the ol wagon

Alrighty, now that I'm finally ready to start workin on the wagon again, I have one question, what would be the best way to clean out the heater ducts (without removing them)? Or do I have to remove them? I only ask because I'm a little paranoid about haunta. That and I want both my girlfriend and I to feel safe when I blast the fan.

Ok, I know its been forever since I posted anything about this, but I agree with ShawnW about this being a 2010 calendar. I'm still trying to plan everything out, but with my computer crapping out all the time it's hard to get organized. And tobiasglass, august 21st is yours. At this point, I won't be requesting pics until I get everything rolling.

The Thurston county area gets my vote, my girlfriend and I are planning on moving to Olympia sometime within the next few months for school and are definitely planning on going to this years show!

K, what time would be best?

Well, I took a look at the turbo car today, it was worse than I remember. Theres garbage all over the back, dust and cigarette ash everywhere, and some sort of weird film covering the dash. I popped the hood to check the water and oil, and there was barely any oil on the stick, and no water that I could see in the radiator. I might pass on it because theres an early 90s legacy half an hour away from me for $250 that I'm going to look at on monday. From what I've heard, the only thing wrong with it is that it needs a $30 part that the only way to get to it is to pull the motor (is there such a part?) Bill: would sunday be ok to come down and get those gauge clusters?

I might go through with doing an engine swap, or I might leave the turbo engine alone if it runs good. Kindof a dumb question, but couldn't I get a carbed ea82 to run with just a few wires and a couple vacuum lines? Or is that just asking for trouble? Bill, the turbo wagon has analog gauges, which is fine for now. And hopefully I'll be able to make it down there to pick up those clusters sometime soon , things are a little bit on edge since I'm going to be moving soon, but we'll see how it goes.

The motor leaks oil pretty badly (but then again, its supposed to ), it runs like crap (my guess is a combination of old fuel filter/crap in the carb), it needs a front axle, new wiper arm, brakes, radiator, and some mice moved in for the winter. Other than that, its a pretty decentish car. For having almost 250,000 its got virtually no rust. I'm just paranoid about the fact that mice pooped in it. The tranny is still good, even tho its a 3at I'm really thinking I'm going to, but if I buy the turbo car I'd like to swap the carbed motor in before the turbo motor craps out. I'm not even sure if it runs good. The guy said it ran great when he drove it, but its been sitting for awhile, so who knows. On a side note, how hard is it to swap a carbed engine into a turbo car?

I acquired my girlfriend's 87 gl wagon (carbed ea82, 3at 4wd) after she got her nissan pickup. We've been sharing the pickup since we can't afford to insure 2 vehicles. I've had to store the wagon up at my moms, and as a result of sitting up there all winter, some mice decided to move in. A guy here in town died not too long ago from the haunta (sp?) virus, so it makes me a bit paranoid thinking about driving it again. I know I could clean it out and whatnot, but I could never shake that paranoid feeling. I found a turbo gl wagon (5sp, p/b 4wd) here in town for $100, and got to thinking, I could either buy the turbo car and drive it like it is (it was a smokers car, but I'd rather clean out cigarettes than mouse poop) or buy it and swap in the carbed motor from the 87. What do you guys think? Btw, its got these wheels:

If thats the ea81 I gave you, it could possibly be the front main seal or the oil pump. I never bothered with the front main, I just kept adding oil, and as for the oil pump, I replaced it with another used one I got from Jerry.

((Mods if I posted this in the wrong section, feel free to move it)) I've been thinking of putting together a daily Subaru calender for awhile now, and I want to see what other people think. It's not a for sure yet, I'd like at least 10 people to agree to buy (because having 2 or 3 made doesn't seem worth it). I'm going to go around to the local copy shops to see how much it would be to print and bind one of these, so I can figure out a price. Request the day(s) you want (max 3 for now, maybe more later, depending on how many people want a calendar) either by replying, or by sending me a PM. In case of 2 people choosing the same day, I'm going to go by the time I see on my computer. I'll send you a PM if someone else has chosen the day that you wanted so you can request a new one. As for pictures, keep them at a reasonable size, and send them to my email (along with your boardname and date you chose) at diablo_stallion3 (at) hotmail (dot) com. I'm open to any ideas or suggestions, as this is my first time doing something like this. I'm not sure when the deadline will be, I'll update as soon as I get one figured out. (2 dates are spoken for, January 18th and March 1st, the girlfriend and I's birthdays.) Keep in mind that this is not a for sure thing yet, so don't get too disappointed if none get made!

I remember there is voltage getting to it because when I replaced it I tested all the wires with a test light, so theres a possibility that the new switch could be bad. :-\ Thanks, I'll look into that. What kind of style do they sell? I did a search at autozone.com and didn't see any adjustable ones.

I might give that a try tomorrow. I might end up bypassing the stock fan circuit though because I think I'm going to run dual fans. But until then, I'll see what I can do to get the single fan working.
