  1. belt is tight put in that lucas ps stuff it helped for bout 12 hours then got stiff again, im leaning more & more towards the rack
  2. thnx all, no noise except when it hits a hard spot you can hear the pump 'strain' a little, fluid is ok
  3. '98 legacy how do you tell if the ps pump is bad or the rack, REALLY hard to turn but it goes in 'spurts" ez, hard, ez, hard spaced approx. evenly, thnx

  6. just replaced all the struts on my 98 legacy wagon and the abs light came on steady, all the sensors are wired and in place? any ideas? also how would i read a code (if any) from the abs system?, thnx, Mark
  7. maybe the belt frayed and jammed, happened to me with my '98 leg free replacement, check with a dealer first
  8. when i suck on valve engine does almost stall so its working right? i dunno
  9. i can move the valve by sucking, kinda ez too i dunno, NO CEL comes on

'98 leg 2.2 no vacuum to back pressure transducer, EGR valve does NOT move at all, when i disconnect egr (the side with one line) and suck through hose it seems like theres a hole but no hole in line? there is NO vacuum to either of the 2 lines that go to the one side? is that the norm? also there a electric switch? thats between the BPT and the EGR valve? thnx in advance
  11. try holding the release and slamming the door i have to do that with mine its just enuff to pop it then spray wd-40 or something like that on the latch mechanism
  12. my '98 2.2 did the same thing, crank sensor code, but it straightened itself out after bout hour and a half, been fine since then
  13. 98 leg wagon, my pulley bolt became so loose i could take it out by hand tightened it back up, seems all is well now, but i keep my eye on it 243k miles
  14. 98 Legacy Wagon, 241k on clock, motor puuuurrrrs like a kitten, doesnt leak a drop of oil, my question is: stamping on block is "EJ22" how would I find out if the motor is the original?, thnx
  15. i just did my motor on a 98 leg wagon the wiper arm is def shorter than fronts and i think they changed body design in '94 so the bolts might not match up you have to remove arm, take off plastic cap, unscrew nut open back hatch cover (pop-outs) disconnect fluid hose and elec. conn. and reinstall , 3 bolts on motor just make sure you put the bottom rubber on the right way so you can feed fluid hose through it
