  1. LOL didnt he blow up the 78 brat engine on the last mudcoast. Needs to remember about the adding oil and coolant thing.
  2. Your door is sitting nice and pretty in the back of the car with plastic PVC shavings all around it.
  3. Oooooooo i need to save money for the parts goodies that might commith.
  4. I call dibs on the fenders if theres a partout.
  5. Welcome back, just so you know if you dont remember. It kinda dies here on the weekend until around 8 or 9 on sunday. Thats when people are done being outside for the day and check there computer things.
  6. Before you even start getting your pretty little head wraped around the idea of adding a turbo on your car im going to say NO. Trust me, i mean really im not jerkin ya around. Its way to complicated to swap over and even if you do the gain is very limited. You are on your way buy swaping the tranny over to manual but please for got sake leave the engine alone until you can upgrade to ej22. Then youve got something there. Has more power then the turbo and loads more reliable (hence you can beat on it more and not worry about it having catastrophic failure). Sorry GD i had to beat you to the punch. Ben
  7. Ive tried to explain this to him but hes kinda excentric because hes only had it for a few months and its had nothing but problems. The mechanic said he would pull the motor and replace the clutch or fix whatever was wrong with it. But he said he woudl also do a timeing belt job, hg job and reseal the few oil leaks he had for 2000 bucks. After that he pretty much would have a reliable vehicle. Hes moving to colorado so i told him the awd woudl be superior in that type of climate but he doesnt think so. I think hes just going to have them fix whatever is wrong with the tranny then try to sell it. Hes going to be out of money but hes paranoid its going to become a money pit.
  8. Ok he was told clutch but when i drove this the clutch was fine. This is the exact problem he is having. When he shifts it does not go into gear. There is some tension in the peddle but it will not go into gear. There is no grinding when he can get it into gear. The only way to get it to move is to put the car in gear when the car is off. You can hear metal on metal grinding while its moveing. Not really loud but noticeable. Clutch peddle has tension but not as tight as it was. Discuss.
  9. My only fear is ill have half the vehicle lifted and not be able to go. I might just wait to lift it after this event so i can go. McBrat still hasnt confirmed if hes going yet or not. Hes on a week to week basis. Even if your brat wasnt ready you can still take your truck.
  10. I find it funny that with all the bada** rides youve had since your first subaru you still have that picture as your avatar. Its a wagon thing man.
  11. Workin hard on getting mine ready but if for some reason its only half way done i might just buddy up with ya brent. But i should pick up my wheels soon and still waiting on my lift:grin: They say april 10 but it still can be any weekend in march or april so who knows when it will actually be.
  12. The guys around here are more old school so i dont know if they even could help.
  13. Only problem with that GD is thatwe dont really have anyplace to do it. I had considered it but ive never undergone anything like that. We could be talking about tearing it up and apart for a while.
  14. He paid 3k for it as is. Then he put brand new tires on it and then replaced a couple things preventing it from running. Then the clutch problem happened. The mechanic is a reputable one and one we have both gone to before. He did say he would pull the motor to replace the clutch, and while the motor was out he woudl do the HGs, timeing belts, and water pump and valve cover gaskets. all that for 2k if he did that he would have a new car.
  15. Ok so my brother has had enough with this car. After he repaced all 4 tires and a coupe sensors in the engine the clutch went out. Now he wants to sell it but doesnt know how much to ask. He is thinking 3000 without the clutch fixed and 4000 with it fixed. He did have the cooling system checked for a blown HG and all is good. I told him it might be worth it to fix it since the HGs are still good but he doesnt want to mess with it. So i guess im offering this for sale but whatever you guys think something like this would be worth fixed or unfixed. Car has 140thousand miles. Would you try to dump it or would you fix it.
  16. Welcome OREchipmunk to the board. He is right look at the search function and you find lots of info. You are very fortunate because there is tons of people in the washington oregon area who do tons of stuff with there subys. You are in good hands.
  17. Will be in the jy this weekend and check around for this alternator. Lookin to upgrade.
  18. Unfortunately twitch this is one of many problems ive had but chalk that up into the fixed category And yea gd. I got both flanges turned rewelded, bolted with new gaskets, and the rusty resonator replaced with a pipe for 112 bucks. Not to bad i say.
  19. Where did you hear that date.
  20. Kinda reminds me of when i was young i save up so long for a 9.6v turbo bandit. The cool pickup from tyco. Then i had to save up for the battery pack. 1st time i had the battery and truck together i was so excited, man it was fast. Drove it through a puddle and that was that. I turned it into walmart wich they issued me a refund back but they didnt have any more and they stoped makeing them shortly after that. Granted its not as extreme as what most of you guys have but it was fun for 30 minutes none the less.
  21. Hey 3eyedwagon clear out your box. Send the lift along the way.
