audio_file replied to smithe's topic in Old Gen.: 80's GL/DL/XT/Loyales...
there is much info here regarding lifts on your wagon, from 2" to 8" and everything in-between . . . just do a little searching . . . there are also a few members here who build lift kits and accessories for soobs, let your intentions be known, and they will be more than happy to assist! chris -

pretty simple really . . . the push button is a single range (on or off) AWD type system, simple to activate, but limited. . . with the lever, you usually get not only on/off, but hi/lo as well (Dual Range). that option is very popular with those who like to take their soobs off the beaten path because the "lo" option provides you with a lower gearing set than you'd get with the simple pushbutton awd (like granny gears). those 4LO gears are also nice for those with oversized tires, and just more fun overall (you can use the hi/lo lever like a "half gear" selector i.e. 1/2, 1, 1 1/2, 2, and so on as you move up and down thru the gears using both levers) also, because the lever is obviously a mechanical system, it provides "for sure" feedback that you are in 4x4 when it really counts! (not that i've ever heard of any issues with the pushbutton not working) chris -

same here . . . it's so much fun taking things apart, i like to see how things tick/work/go back together . . . almost worth the flight (then i can bring that ER27 home as "carry on baggage" ) chris -
if you have not already seen the thread msldxcrkr, theres an RX possibly being parted out here on the forum, looks to have the full body kit in good condition, just in case you don't already have one lined up chris

respectfully . . . my experience tells me otherwise . . . with my EA82 carbed engine the intake manifold gaskets were allowing coolant to drain into the combustion chamber-and it's not impossible to imagine the water getting past the rings (or being compressed past a valve ) and into the oil supply, which is what happened to me, i had to change the oil after i was done with the gaskets (because it had coolant in it) which wouldn't have been necessary based on your comments above . . . i stand corrected on EJ's however, i haven't been that deep into one myself . . :-\ chris

what'r the odds of you bringing that west with you, assuming it was bought and paid for? no worries if that's too much of a pain, i can check shipping costs too . . . never mind . . . i suppose that wouldn't work as carry on baggage (i just realized you're probably flying, duh - remember me, the slow kid>> ) chris
-
ah, but a wee bit west (of me) and all down the coast south would be such a beautiful drive . . . and then send back whats left of the car  b.t.w. whatcha want for the crate engine? chris

ya know, just after i posted this ? i double checked a pic i took of the intake right after i bought it . . . so, i'm just a moron, trying to put a sensor equipped t-stat housing on an intake manifold that for some reason is different than any other MPFI intake in that regard . . . i wonder what the reasoning was for that part difference? -
thanks for the suggestions! i've got a good guess, but will you spell out (for the slow kid, me ) what CTS and IAC are . . . and when you come up to washington, you are soo welcome to take 'er for a drive, for ol' times sake . . . chris

a few more i've found (enjoy, these pics are hard to find out there . . .) i might have forgotten a few . . . these are the most "unique" ones, should help out with the color de-selection anyway chris

pic of mine . . . and of a few others i've found while searching for various things . . . WJM's is still my fav, mostly because it doesn't require a full color change if i wanted something similar . . .
