  1. well ill try and remember to take a video of it tomarrow....but i still dont believe that this is a "problem".... alrighty here we go i just got a pic of it....
  2. well....yes the RPM ranges are the same from this trans and the old one.....i believe im getting pretty good gas mileage (about 24 mpg average)......everything about the 2 trans seemed identical....all i know is that it came out of another 96 legacy 2.2 and it bolted right up no problem.....
  3. yeah i do....i have 17 inch ASA rims on 205/45/17........i think stock is 14 inch steeles with 185/?/14........so what is this telling me.....is my engine RPM still correct....i went by a speed sensor for the cops the other day and i regestered perfectly.....25 in a 25...... its been fine for me and all my tests check out so as far as i know and everyone else who drives my car knows its normal......
  4. yup just checked on the drive home....at 60 in 5th im at 1600-1800 RPM and at 80 mph im at 3000 RPM...also again checked my tac...little weird because its a DVOM and its a wastespark system....so you just divide by 2..and it matched my in car tach......
  5. i did put another trans in it about 3k ago but it was a used direct replacement......tach works perfect....even hooked up an external tach for a little while and they showed the same reading....i will give it another try on my way home....it was pretty early in the morning...
  6. i would try another fluid change or 2 and add some kind of additive...i have read numerous posts here about people who have had problems with there automatic transmission and the problem has been solved with a little additive and fluid change.....though i think the "Additive" is designed to swell the seals....check out the related threads at the bottom of the page.....
  7. yup.....checked it on a few different roads...and how i got up to speed.....at 60 mph in 5th gear... im crusing at 1600 RPM...than at 80 mph...im at like 3500-3800 RPM
  8. on my ride to school this morning i kept your Question in mind.....in my 96' legacy ej22 in 5th gear at 60 mph....im crusing at about 1600 RPM.....
  9. my buddy has a 98...looks the exact same....i love the way they look......
  10. tensioner possibly....as well as any oil leaks you have....cam seals, crank seal, oil pump..etc.....
  11. just had a quick question.....was the 93' impreza ej18 ever offered in an 8 valve model?.... just another quick question....my boss bought a 98 legacy outback limited and long story short he had to get another engine but used the same intake manifold.....was this model ever offered with a 2.2?.....it looks as though he has a 2.2 intake manifold on a JDM 2.5? how im noticing this is that his idle air control is not integrated in the throttle body.....he has the same IAC as i have on my ej22......was the USDM 2.5 ever offered with an IAC not integrated into the throttle body? he has it all straightened out but i was just wondering....a little knowledge never hurt anybody..... thanks for your time.....
  12. i was reading a post a while ago....is that thing really called a "virgin" switch?
  13. check the little switch on top of the steering column......
  14. ive never heard of them but they kind of sound like a generic "value" brand.......
  15. it all depends what code it is....i believe the knock sensor is a 2 trip code so if the problem happens on 2 consecutive drive cycles than the CEL will pop on.....i could be wrong on that though.......when the CEL was on for the knock sensor did you feel like a lack of power or anything?
  16. i saw that concept a few months back i think they had it in Subiesport or something....out off all the concepts i see i think that is one that looks the coolest....
  17. on this topic....i accidently overcharged my system in my 96 lego last week (thanks to a bad machine).....the air never even got slightly cold....recovered it again, pulled a vacuum, and charged her up and now she works great..... (i believe the ROT on the low side is 24-45 psi and high side is 100+ambient temp.)
  18. http://www.1stsubaruparts.com http://www.subarupartsforyou.com http://www.autopartswarehouse.com the only one of these i have used is the last one....and i have never run into a problem with anything....plus excellant prices....
  19. alignment?.....when it comes to ball joints....there not that difficult....a few bolts, nut, and cotter pin....and lots of pounding....
  20. i would make sure it is the correct fuse first.....look on the cover to confirm......i have seen instances where "bob" at the local garage didnt have a 15 amp fuse and just stuck a 7.5 in there.......
