  1. yeah i appreciate that.....we were working on a 2001 impreza sedan the other day and it bore the badge TS..........
  2. i would just take out the bulb for the CEL if that is what your concerned about.......obviously though if something else went wrong you would know it........

  5. i felt great this morning when i was taking off from a light and the maxima next to me wasnt moving.....ive got some great traction with the bridgestone blizzaks .....
  6. well im not sure your emissions regulations were you are..but here in PA you would fail the state emissions test if you bypassed the EVAP canister..... come to think of it if you go by the book i believe you will fail state inspection also......

  9. ok.....i got home got my multimeter and found out i could use an inductive pickup to measure my RPM's...so i clamped the pickup around #1 cylinder plug wire and got a reading fluctuating from about 650-850 PRM's fully warmed up in neutral....i dont know how good inductive pickups are for measuring RPM's.....the meter was kind of running around from 650 to 850....my pics wont upload for some reason but my Tach on the dash is in the same exact spot as the pic. i took yesterday......
  10. no idea about prices but CCR (colorado componant rebuilders) are out there in Denver......from what people tell me they do excellant work and i think they have like a 3 year warranty.......
  11. is it safe to backprobe the igniter connector with some T-pins just for a few moments while i monitor the RPM at idle?

  13. thanks porc....yeah i vacuum gauge showed a healthy engine but idle seems a little high.....im still trying to figure out how to hook up a DVOM on the tach function.......any input would be great.....
  14. thanks alot porc......i just did a vacuum test and the needle had an almost steady reading at 20 in. hg at idle.....so according to that everything is good.....i also called subaru they said my gasket will be in tomarrow.......if my IAC was having a problem would it have shown up on the vacuum test?.....
  15. did you get a chance to take a look at engine RPM at idle?

  17. well you could give it a try....it may take a while but at least you will know how to do it if it happens again....at least that is what i would do......
  18. cold can have an effect....what i would do is clear the code and see if it comes back....thats a pretty low mileage car.....
  19. also you could run some chalk on the belt to quiet it down.....worked for me....
