  1. not everyone is about money im offering to fix it for free hes a friend. i made my reply thinking this car has some sentimental value to him. thats priceless to some people. and you cant honestly say the whole clip needs replacing youve only seen pictures. anyways i have access to a frame rack. if its not worth it don... tell me to shut up id do anything to get my subaru back. if i get hired at subaru this will be job # 3. it means that much to me (i could just buy another gl for $250 fix it and lift it for LESS but i want MY subaru back)
  2. My typing/"grammar" skills are not gone. The reason I don't use apostrophes and capitol letters "proper written grammar" is because i never cared to add them when you or anyone else can read what I have written just fine AND it slows me down. now if you were my teacher im sure I would make things right. i like all subaru engine's but the 6's dont have that rumble. that distinct subaru sound is one reason i like subaru. i should be been more specific the "experts" are all leaning towards the 2.5 sort block i was looking at a 2.0 setup . since i havent messed with a 2.0 whats the gain/loss over a 2.5 sb?
  3. I am serious. Don is a good guy. My shop is ready. I have all the tools you'll need and when it come down to the fine stuff like body work and paint. Matco is on speed dial. My tools are your tools don You dont HAVE to part your SUBARU out. and you damn sure dont have to pay to have it fixed. you'd be surprised how fast i have the front of the car taken off. And if someone will lend you a rig "If any of my spares were mobile, I'd lend you one to drive. Both need HGs though..." Bring it up and lets do a HG job and/or what ever else it needs. Anything to get you going again. EDIT: i have a couch, internet with desktop and laptop, a full size bed, shower, fridge, "kitchen sink" with dishes and food. its basically a studio right here on the side of the shop if you wanna come up and dont wanna drive back and fourth.
  4. haa it sucks it has to be that way.. i wont text i wont look when people say "LOOK" i wont turn around to look in the back seat (baby) i learned this lesson a few times over. once in iraq driving a humvee on camp al taqqadum nosed it right into a "ditch" slammed so hard i swore my collar bone was fractured. im glad your okay don. i wanna say dont sell or part it. i can fix it. but im guessing your ready to move on... ill add this for the poor rig... it saved your life, you should save it. im serious bring it up to the shop, ill put it on jacks in the back corner take all the bent/broken parts off tally up a list and you can go from there....... i loved your wagon
  5. awesome thanks for the info. i hope i get this 2nd job ill be able to get things going quick
  6. Numbchux your pretty smart my friend. thank you for your input that seriously helped and to be honest ive never looked into an EZ30D engine but im sure i wouldnt like it as much as the 4's because the subaru sound that rumble...... ill be doing lots o research on in now.. i applied at subaru today i hope i get the job
  7. Boner- money is not an issue up to 4k and please continue to use terms as you will. i now understand why aussies and brits call us stupid americans...

have you thought about a double a-arm mod? it would be another easy option id help with making it work
  10. i searched ebay and CL i could not find the SP heads or 2.2 heads for that matter. i found a short block for $1800 (new) in not looking to go to a JY for the major stuff (block and heads) i know ill spend more dipping and rebuilding them than buying them new with a warranty depending on how tonight goes with the boss (im going to suggest we do an hour change) i might be working at the subaru dealership.. my buddy works there so i got a foot in the door. (i know they have all ill need) untill then anyone know where to buy "new" or reman 1.8/2.2 single port heads and phase II 2.5 block?
  11. woot! oh and i paid $715 for four 235/75R15 from les schwab to give ya an idea

  16. thanks i loved that wagon... currently working on gettin it back
  17. Bill get ahold of me. (it wont let me pm you)
  18. Thanks bison for everyone else: 6" lifts for Loyale/EA82/3rd gen L-series are $500 plus shipping, 6" for EA81/Brat/Hatch/2nd gen L-series are $450 plus shipping." that $300 difference leaves enough money to buy a ej to ea adapter plate and flywheel
  19. other then scott? i dont currently have the tools to make one myself or else i would i dont wanna pay $800! for a 6" lift kit on a $250 car and theres this: "steering shaft must be lengthened (not offered by SJR)" im expecting scott to be my only option but this is my attempt to find cheaper kit....
  20. why is that? "custom tune" for a rig that has hard to get to head it seems kinda like an inconvenience
  21. stock internals? 2.5 shorty + 1992-94 legacy 2.2 sp heads + manifold (intake?) + timing belt setup... harness and ecu would be from a 2.5 correct? if so i would love to use a 2.5 dash (to me it would be way easier to 'retrofit' into a 87 wagon then correctly modding the harness)
