  2. well if i woulda known you were trading:rolleyes: its not a bad sub you just cant push them yanno my buddy maxes his rms and its whining now:confused: ive had a p2 and p3. i loved em. if it wouldn't have been for the over sized ported box i prolly would have done some "sound searching" with the volume dial and blown it cause they do not hit in big sealed boxed very well. your better at this than i am. im just listing life experiences
  3. id steer clear from the p3 they do hit hard but not for long. they blow fast which is odd.. if ur set on the p3 go here Linky ill be going with these soon.. and in my opinion its the best bang for ur buck linky
  4. well that too the chrome plating peeled back and alge grew under the badge.. ebay isnt all that bad.. i pay instantly with paypal and i never put money in my paypal account. since my debit card is linked to it, it charges my debit through paypal and my badge was insured all the way from Hon Kong
  5. no im gonna black out the background and leave it.. the point was to fill the dip with the letter making it look "stock" to the average person (not a subaru nut)... i got them off ebay for next to nothin.. good deal on my part:) i went to clean my other one (the actual stock one) i left it in a bowl of cleaner on the porch and came back to find it broken in half??
  6. mine was... i ordered a bushing kit for $50 and fabbed up the T bar bushing setup. will this info be of use? ill go unbolt everything and measure out my bolt and bushing if it will help anyone out my shifter is TIGHT now it stays in gear and you can tell what gear its in when you look at the shifter super smooth transition too..
  7. got my new anti theft:grin: Ruger SR9
  8. the T bar that the shift linkage bolts to on the tranny (moves in and out and is connected to the tranny by a pin) may not have a bushing. mine did not all it had was a fat bolt through it that was way too small. so all my gears felt like neutral... i cut the old bolt off (because i just bolted the tranny up and the bolt was put in backwards so i couldn't pull it out) pulled the linkage re-drilled the linkage holes to match the new bolt which wasn't as wide as the t bar hole then i cut a piece of copper pipe to sleeve the bolt. now everything is tight aside from the play from the tranny itself which isn't much at all..
  9. and ej swap is looking distant right now... now that i cleared up my court BS they slap me with a $450 fee and said good bye. i just spent $715 on my tires $60 on a set of rims i now have for sale $100 on the clutch $500 on a ruger sr9 (with goodies, i got attacked by a dog in my own yard the other day and (i sold my 45 and i carry everyday) and its a good tweeker b gone) paid 3 months rent $1950 and finally paid off last months bail from jail cause i missed court witch was $750 plus $200 for impound fees. so im absolutely strapped for cash ill take your word and let the setup go its own way
  10. ive never dealt with a turbo swap. i know there is a compression difference, what else would make the swap hard? i found a turbo setup.. and was wondering if it was worth the trouble (would be going on my stock 87 wagon ea82 engine with 5 speed)
  11. clutch is done! installed all new shifter bushings 225mm turbo disk? it musta been swapped out. now i gotta modify the exhaust. running straight pipe from the heads back with a nice muffler (undecided on what one still)
  12. ive never done machine work. what is the flywheel step?
  13. good info too late. i ordered a clutch from partsgeek.com and they sent me a 200mm disk.. ************!! now my tranny is sittin on a bench doin jack************. im goin to napa in the morning to see if they have what i need. now that i know i need a 225mm disk.... ill never be left waiting again... **** that sucks. i need to hit the books:rolleyes: speaking of i got my G.I. Bill im goin to college to get some papers that say im a mechanic (goin to olympic college for mechanics) you know the subaru will be in the shop 24/7:grin: other than that what is the absolute best 225 disk that will fit the 5speed d/r?
  14. yepp.. ill be returning to see pics:grin:
  15. looks professional:) i cant wait to see it all done. i have fancy ideas for the amp base:grin: ill be adding this once the funds come in http://www.onlinecarstereo.com/CarAudio/p_19675_Soundstream_SCELL-1000.aspx so i can run a cheaper alt. still push 100+ amps but cheaper than $250
  16. thanks don if you search that site for alt's youll see bigger for the same price and with adapter brackets:grin:
  17. got cha.. the camp thing with 2 batteries...... OKAY i wont be bass'n it up. camping usually lasts a weekend.. i dont wanna run my car every 2 hours to recharge the battery.. just because its not blasting music doesnt mean it wont die.. i have a 600watt power inverter on it as well... im not going to buy another battery maybe another cap at most. as for the red top input.. good info on ur part about the discharge and charge rate.. im not always bumpin my subs (i feel that i have to make this clear for some reason) the videos of it flexing to roof are to show its limitations thats not how i always listen to it.. and i dont go camping around a ton of people once in a great while ill go somewhere where ill have to pay to stay other than that 'kiss my rump roast' its noon and im crankin up the tunes. (almost no bass).. ive never had a complaint. down on white river people actually came over to hang out for the night (my suby was cranked up by a crate fire) id like to stry away from "if you came to my area with your music playin like that you wouldnt be happy" talk im not in your area and if i was really disturbing someone id leave, if mr macho has more to say faster than i can leave.. im sure the SR9 will take care of it all.. lets stay on track. 140-180amp is what im looking at as of now another cap for the 2 smaller amps. ill leave the big cap for the big amp after that it should be okay
  18. i found this http://www.qualitypowerauto.com/catalog.php?category=21 HELPFUL:)
  19. Wrong the red top is one step up from an everyday battery. the yellow top is the deep cycle made for boats and stereos. i did my research on that one in iraq. we use red tops on our generators. i know. but my amps pull ALOT, plus another 320w is goin in and i have 6 extra lights. those day lighters pull alot i can see the voltmeter drop when i turn them on. you got it.. Camping.............. its sittin around 12 right now. like 11.4 or so might have been cause the door was open i know i said up to 320 gimme some credit.. i was thinkin 180 so i dont burn stuff up but still get that charge.. i worked with the 24v 280amp alternator systems ALOT in iraq.. never seen an alt. charge more than it was designed for.. Obviously if your car doesn't run/move then you should fix that first, then worry about the alt tomorrow is hammer time
  20. i have the optima yellow top.. the red top is "better"? i can run dual yellow tops and napa said they make custom alternators up to 320amp ill see how this goes.. im focusing on the clutch tomorrow then alternator.. money is runnin thin now..
  21. thank you! ill check that out tomorrow before i drop the tranny. im still gettin a new alt...
  22. the subaru is parked. has been till the clutch arrives.. ^ you should quit breathing i dont need more info to tell that its cooked.. GD what would cause this? too much draw? cause i dont bump the stereo all the time
  23. reads 14.3 at idle and goes up with the rpm's stops at 17.6-18
