gen 1 coupe seats into a gen one wagon?
so my best bet would be to go with EA81 style hatchback seats? I can't really think of any yards around here that have a GF hardtop....do gen 1 Brat seats also flip forward? If they do, I know where there's a set of black ones I could get for free dollars:D

gen 1 coupe seats into a gen one wagon?
Ok so my question is....will gen 1 coupe seats fit into a gen 1 wagon? Do they flip forward like in an EA81 hatchback? If not, how hard is it to fit EA81hatchback front seats into a gen 1 wagon? If the coupe seats fit in the wagon, has anyone seen any on the west coast (Oregon/Washington) in a j/y or in their garage?

Bored + Paint = new look
There's a buddy of mine who is on the board (his name is 89urabus) that painted his wagon wheels he has on his 89 sedan, graphite color. It looks very nice. He's had many questions on "where he got those aftermarket rims"....lol, aftermarket......riiiiiight;)

TurboWagon Troubles
maybe you just need to add a bit of techron to the tank. Sometimes when you do a tune-up, stuff that has been building up for awhile can come loose and slightly clog and injector.

Hood release cables- Can they be repaired?
or you could hook a wire up to the latch and have it dangle out of the grille:D Thats how I had my 79 wagon for awhile until I got around to fixing it:-p

Help, short in car

Busted hood release-How to break into hood?
aww come on Paul, you should be able to do this:D I'm not quite sure on that style of wagon but I know on my 79, I had to wiggle a screw driver through the grille and press on the little lever that is pulled by the cable. It took me about 30 minutes to do it but I finally got it open and pulled out the hood release mechanism. I hope you can figure this out;)

8 yr old daughter building EA-82
I started when I was 6 helping my dad do a full brake and suspension job on his 1982 BMW 320i. He thinks he knows everything about cars and mechanics, but I love it when I can prove him wrong when he "knows" he's right.

t-belt cover what if..... continues
sorry for not responding sooner guys. I have had no time to really start BUT I have a basic drawing of both sides and so my next step is to put it into a computer. Unfortunalty with school, work, and trying to get my wagon back on the road, its not a priority on my list right now. Maybe when I finally get some free time I can really get started. But for now........yeah, school is my major concern. Kinda wanna get it out of my way:rolleyes:

The $1 '78 Subaru Wagon
I'm gonna see about canalizing it for GD just for the huge favor he's doin for me. I'll see about claming some parts and if you need anything, I'll see what I can do. GD, what would be a good time to get together? I was hoping sometime this coming weekend we could get together and have a bash with it. Also I'm gonna send you a PM on a parts list I might need.

The $1 '78 Subaru Wagon
cool beans:D *does the happy dance* YAY!!! I'll be able to drive my wagon once again. SO I'll need the hatch, any doors that are left over, the hood if no one has claimed it yet, the carpet if you're not gonna use it for the Brat, and maybe some odds-n-ends but I'll have to make a small list.....Oh and the tail lights and the fromt markers and parking lights, doesn't hurt to have back-ups:D I can also see about getting interior for ya too if ya need it seeing we've got a couple gen 1 Brats down here. Anyways I'll PM you with a more detailed list list Thanks GD

found something to drool over.. pics added..
another way to tell if its an 85 or an 86 is where the side mirrors are mounted. 85's are mounted TO the door where the 86 has them mounted to that triangle piece above the door:D

The $1 '78 Subaru Wagon
well the story is like this. I talked to GD last night on the phone about it. I also have my 79 wagon I got about 6 months ago BUT there is no title even though I have all the paperwork to get one, its just too muich work for me to do right now. So if I can convert it to 4wd, then I will be parting out my 79 DL wagon. I won't need the engine, trans, interior except for the carpet, and I can use and part out the body panels from my wagon on it seeing its the same color. Oh and BTW, I talked to Brian (Junkie) last night and he said that converting it to 4wd is just swapping everything over like an EA81....I hope he's right:rolleyes:
-
swapping 4wd parts into a 2wd (gen 1)
well I was just wondering if it was like swapping the 4wd into an EA81 car. I know its all a direct bolt-in but I need to know if its the same with gen 1's.
-
swapping 4wd parts into a 2wd (gen 1)
Ok so I might be having to swap all of my 4wd stuff from my 79 wagon into a 2wd 78 wagon. Is it possible? Does anyone know? Paul maybe? I need to know this ASAP just in case I have to do this:D
