  1. Ok so what control arm and knuckle set up would you have to run in order to use the FWD Impreza axles?
  2. ^what he said, I just needed a bigger wrench and I used a pair of vise grips because that what I had. But before that you just need to deal with the lock ring that is just bent in to lock it in place. Very easy to do just have another look at it. Good luck!!
  3. Man that really is a thing of beauty! So clean!! A+ job
  4. Here's mine http://www.cardomain.com/id/bratman86 It was rated #1 Brat on cardomain last month!
  5. I want to see something done for the front!
  6. Yeah mine were actually 205 75 14 but measured 26 1/4 when new
  7. Look at the plugs where they plug in, if they are the same they should be interchangeable
  8. You use the EA81 axles. That stays the same. And you can use the same throwout bearing. I'm pretty sure they are the same between the two anyway
  9. I started with a 2" lift in the front of my Brat and the torsion bar cranked up in the rear and I could fit 26" tires. Does that help?
  10. The EA82 uses struts, not shocks. If you disabled the torsion bar suspension, you could put in the EA82 rear strut/spring assembly, but with the stock suspension, you can only put another shock on it.
  11. Yeah I agree that getting stuck might have been handled better, but, that wasn't what posting the video was about, that's all. But all things aside, Nice Brat and it will be fixed in no time!!
  12. So Brian, it sounds like you are leaning towards doing something like this. If you do, please post pics and build specifics! This obviously would solve so many problems!
  13. I'm glad someone asked this question! I have never had a decent wiper. They always streak or just don't work right. So I'm hoping there is a unanimous vote towards a specific kind!
  14. Well unless you have Pug rims, older subarus(Gen 2) have a very narrow track width. I would specifically use them if I ever do a mod I've wanted to do. Which is to run Loyale control arms etc. on the front. Then the rear would look really narrow so having some spacers would even it back out. I dunno, maybe I'm alone on this but I thought I heard others talking about it a while back
  15. Very nice! So obviously these would work on other 4 lug subys as well. Is there a chance you can produce a bunch of these? I'm sure that you'd have some takers! Looks very good though and I can't wait to see them on the car
  16. without any trimming, you would be able ti fit some where around a 26" tire. But definitely could fit bigger with a BFH
  17. He means you are kind of new here to be saying things like that to people that have been here for years. Just try not to be so insulting, he was just sharing his experience, not looking for criticism.
  18. yeah know I have had these thoughts before. I think that as long as you could make sure everything was welded straight and true, that it would work great! I think it's definitely something that should be looked into and maybe tried by someone with the tools and know how!
  19. yeah I know in my area as long as it runs and the body is ok than it would be worth at least 1000. Definitely depends on how plentiful they are in your area
  20. You would have to either pull the motor or the tranny, whatever is easiest for you, and then replace the bearing. and inspect the clutch, because if it's bad at all you might as well replace it while you're in there. That sounds like the problem to me. My Brat used to do it before I changed it out and I've had other cars do it as well. Pretty cheap fix just a little involved.
  21. Sounds like the pilot bearing or the throw out bearing. Probably the throw out bearing.
  22. Thanks Dave! I'll PM you with my email addy. And I'll take a look at the website you posted as well. Thanks I appreciate it!
  23. What do you guys use for manuals when tearing into a motor? I eventually want to do the head gaskets on my 2000 RS with the SOHC 2.5. And I could probably do it and have done others without a manual, but I want it there just in case. I will be at my friends house so coming in the house and asking you guys won't work. So what manuals would you recommend? Thanks!
