fuel injection manifold EA81
The EJ will fit between the frame rails. But the EA82 would require notching the frame quite a bit. A friend of mine did it in his 80 EA81 wagon. But when he got it, it had front end damage so it required frame rail work anyway so he just built it to fit the EA82. But the EJ will drop in with no mods on the frame rails. But on the older Gen 1 it won't fit with out notching

4EAT/rear diff ratio chart?
bratman18 replied to njdrsubaru's topic in 1990 to Present Legacy, Impreza, Outback, Forester, Baja, WRX&WrxSTI, SVXIf all he needs is a matching rear diff, that's awesome! That just means lower gears for off road!!

VW + Subaru = Veedubaroo
Yeah you need to make sure you get the shift linkage etc. as well for that tranny. Again I have shift linkage too but it's another one of those things I'm really not willing to part with:-\sorry! And how bout that snow!! We are supposed to get 12-15" tomorrow! Fun fun! It just means I'll be out doing some plowing again on my wheeler! Good luck on getting parts and like I said, as soon as I find a box big enough, I'll send out that rear diff!! Oh yeah and are you definitely going to the car show in Carlisle?

'08 Outback 2.5i Flywheel Bolt Problem
bratman18 replied to ar2's topic in 1990 to Present Legacy, Impreza, Outback, Forester, Baja, WRX&WrxSTI, SVXThe only tip I can really give is to put loc-tite on the bolts before they are tightened back up.

New Camera = New Brat Pix!
That's a wagon/hatch gas door. The Brat's actually came with a different one. The Brat looks good all leveled out like that, but it's sooooo low! But it does look nice!

I'm bout to put a round into this thing!!!!
Maybe a wheel bearing going bad which is making it grind on the pad when the weight is transferred? Try jacking up on the corner that makes the noise and trying to wiggle the wheel.

Knock Knock!
I think it means that there is a better chance of it being an EA81. But not positive on that.
-
Knock Knock!
Yeah it actually looks like it's off to the side. If you can , get some more pics and search for that stamp
-
Knock Knock!
Somewhere either on the top front passenger side of the block or near the back, there will be a stamp that says EA81 or EA71. I fyou could take a pic that would be great. Especially to show the placement of the starter

The Gen 1 Winch - Best Replacement for Original
The 2000 lb one would look the closest to the original but it wouldn't have much pulling power for the Brat. But then the problem you run into is that if you want a bigger one, it is just that, Bigger! So it wouldn't look like the original. But you would probably get more usefulness out of it.

Custom Bumper w/ Hella 500s, Opinions Please
If you did what you describe in the above photo, you could then run a support of the back side of the bumper and hook it into something a little stronger to give it some strength

4EAT/rear diff ratio chart?
bratman18 replied to njdrsubaru's topic in 1990 to Present Legacy, Impreza, Outback, Forester, Baja, WRX&WrxSTI, SVXI'm not sure. But I know that when I had a question about this one time, I called the dealer and they were able to look it up for me. So maybe you could try that? I mean I would think it would be the same, but of course I don't know for sure

Knock Knock!
no none ever came with fuel injection, but you can do a conversion using the system that a Loyale uses. That's what I have and I love it! I have the stock pushrod, EA81 motor with the Loyale fuel injection system on it. A few others on here have the same set up. The hardest part is the wiring

how often do you change your mind?
yeah I say if you are comfortable with your skills and building abilities, and have the tools, go for it! I mean you're already building your rig, why not make it the way you want it now. Instead of going back later. Have fun!!!
