  1. Give him a chance, he is after all, half your age and still learning:-\
  2. Yeah if the axle had pulled apart than it prob wouldn't turn very easily. I'm guessing that the control arm is just at an "off" angle and needs maybe some hammering and/or some pry bar usage. Keep at it. I know all about "easy" projects that go harder than they are supposed to!!
  3. There is a chance that the axle pulled apart, but it should slide back together. Try using a little more force, maybe even a hammer to persuade that control arm in. Once you get that in, it should all go back together.
  4. Yeah I found it and even removed it, it's Brown on this car. It looks like it is in good shape visually. But who knows. I will call the dealer tomorrow and maybe see if I can talk to a tech, and see what he says. Thanks guys
  5. It effects the toe because it is pushing out on the back of the assembly which makes the front point in. Also, to take the strut out of the knuckle. you would leave the top strut bolts bolted on and remove the lower strut bolts and apply downward pressure on the knuckle to remove from the strut. Then remove the top 3 bolts and pull strut down. Then bolt on the block and strut back onto the car, then angle the knuckle out, and push on the strut so it kinda "pops" into the knuckle. You will still have to "persuade" the strut the rest of the way into the knuckle. Good luck!

Is this the one you were talkin about?
  7. yes, the alarm goes off when you open the door, or if the door is left open, if you try to start it. But no it does not even crank. I did ask on the saturn forum and haven't had a single reply
  8. The reason I told you that is because that is how I have done it on 4 different cars. I don't know why yours is not working that way. But don't get aggravated at everyone else. It isn't a big deal. You have to turn the wheel left and then push on the rearward side of the rotor and that should push the control arm back in, then slip the bolt through and you'll be all good!! Just keep your cool!!
  9. Well we are back to the same problem!! Now it won't start again and it doesn't matter if I take the fuse out or anything! I hate domestic cars!!
  10. I don't understand what was so hard, All I have ever done is just unbolt the top strut bolts and pryed down on the assembly and slipped in my blocks. Then bolted it back together.
  11. Wells sorry:-\ I thought cutting springs was bad and I have never re clocked a torsion bar. And also if you read the post above, he did not cut the springs, he used Honda springs. Pardon me and my ignorance
  12. Thanks a lot guys!!! I went down to her work and replaced the fuse that was labeled chime, and it started right up. It looks like a bad connection on the fuse. As usual, I love this place!!
  13. My wifes car. It has always been great and extremely reliable until recently. When you open the door or try to start it, some sort of alarm goes off, and makes the horn beep and it won't start. She had to work this morning at 6 am and when she got out, it did this, now it's parked at her work:-\ So any ideas? This happened last week as well and she simply got a jump and it started right up. Why would this be? The battery is good and tested. and everything has power to it, it just won't even turn over when you turn the key. Unfortunately my wife is not comfortable driving a standard so this is the only car she can drive, and I work all week, so she is stuck without a car with our 14 month old daughter. This sucks!!! Thanks for any ideas
  14. Looks good, so how'd you do it?
  15. Sounds good to me and with great reasoning!! Thanks Rob!
  16. No she goes straight down the road even when I let go of the wheel, and the tires wear good even with the 2" strut lift. So I'm sure that's all good. I'm pretty sure the PO had something apart at some point and he never was very good at paying attention to detail
  17. Ok cool. Thanks!! The only real reason I wanted to take mine off is because mine is crooked as all hell. It has been since I've owned it and I just wanted to take it off turn it and put it back on. I just didn't want to beat on it and break it so I couldn't put it back on
  18. I was able to get a 2" block in without removing the entire strut, but things are different between vehicles:rolleyes:
  19. So if I just hammer on the wheel from the back side it should come off? Sounds like a PITA!! So are they interchangeable between EA81 and EA82?
  20. Ok, so I can just remove the big nut and pull the steering wheel off of my Brat, but on my EA82 GL I take the big nut off and can not get the thing to move. Is there something different between the two? And, does an EA81 fit on an EA82 car? It looks like it but I wasn't sure.
  21. You will have to remove your sway bar links if you haven't already.
  22. I think we would all love to see pics!!!
  23. Nice!!! Are the lenses Subaru?
  24. Has anyone ever modified a push bar from an EA81 car to fit onto an EA82 car? I have one and would love to put it on my 89 GL. I just wanted to know if anyone knew what needed to be done or if it would even fit? Thanks
  25. I've always bought NAPA and had great results!! Always got the right parts and always lasted a long time and work great, but it helps that it is a locally owned business where they time extra time and effort to make sure you get the right parts, That's the only aftermarket automotive store I will go to.
