  1. It's all yours, I decided against it, thanks for holding it for me bob97c5!!
  2. Sorry I didn't reply to your message. This should be in the offroad section and there are many answers to this question in that section. But yes, you can make blocks to do your own home made lift. It takes some cutting and maybe even some welding. But I did mine in the driveway with simple tools. Also, if you plan on putting bigger tires on the car as well, you might want to put a dual range tranny in as well. I believe since you have a DL that you only have a single range tranny.
  3. Awesome!! Great job with the paint. You must love the EJ with the big tires compared to your other car. I really, really, really want to put an EJ22 in my 89 GL!!! I just need to get a parts car and then have someone do the wiring for me!! Great job and I'd love to see some pics/video of that thing in action!!
  4. Yeah I love the sedan!! I wanted one for a long time. I do wish it had more room, but that's ok, it looks awesome!! And yeah, the only issue was a blown head light bulb, so I can't complain!!! And NAPA was open late so I just swung in and got one. Mykingcrab, I want your roof rack!! Where did you get it?
  5. So, Thursday and Friday my wife and I along with a bunch of friends, went to Northern Maine. We traveled about 3 1/2 hours north from our place to a little town called Jackman. We camped out in tents and got very wet!! We had some very impressive thunder storms, some of the biggest I've seen in a long time. Unfortunately we all got very wet and so did our bedding and clothes. There was some good points though! I was the only one with a Subaru, and I took my 89 GL. I did a little off roading but not a lot, and unfortunately I didn't get any pics of that. We did a fair amount of fishing and caught a lot of Brook Trout and I caught a couple Salmon as well, all on a fly rod. We also saw a few Moose. Here are some pics!! This is one of the campsite, with some friends. It was nice to have help watching our daughter!! We did a lot of driving in very remote areas, so I decided I better bring a gas can This one is at a boat landing on Moosehead Lake This one is at a rest area look out on route 201, very nice view!! You can see the fishing gear strapped to the racks:grin: Over all the trip was good, but we did head home a little early do to being wet, and having my 13 month old daughter with us. We put over 500 miles on, and the car did very good!! I would love to have an EJ22 for the hills, but the EA81 did just fine most of the time. The only problems were a blown headlight bulb, and I have to replace a front hub.
  6. Yeah, how many do you have? And what are they?
  7. What a monster!!! So how does it go?
  8. It's kind of on the crossmember part. Mine does not rub at all, and I have a home made 2" lift. To the OP, yes, that is just to reduce the angle on the axles, I only have my struts dropped 2" and have put many miles and there are no issues so far!! Make sure we get pics of the project!!
  9. You can very easily make a lift your self. You just need some material and a few simple tools.
  10. Looks similar to the one I had. Take care of that rust before it gets worse, cause we all know it does and will!! That would be awesome with an EJ!! Good find
  11. Man, again I wish these things were closer. I mean, compared to most things, this is much closer, but I just can't make it. I'd still love to come down and meet you guys, and what a treat it would be to meet Turbone!! All the way from the west! Hope you guys have a great time, and maybe next year after I get some vacation time on the books, I can make it down to one of the meets!!
  12. When I used a 1" spacer on my Brat, used a OB steering shaft, it fit perfect. I dunno if it will be different because it's a Loyale or not.
  13. This is awesome!! I have wanted to do an upgrade to my alt but didn't want to deal with more modifying, this looks real easy!! Great work and thanks for sharing.
  14. You need to post in the wanted section
  15. The head gaskets are not different between the earlier ones and the later ones. I ordered 86 head gaskets for my 83 engine and they fit fine and have not leaked a drop
  16. That's why I swapped an EA81 into mine. I will eventually do EJ but money was an issue right now
  17. 1/4 up the gauge sounds perfect for me. Every Loyale I've had runs at 1/4. That's why I recently was worried about my car getting warmer than that. But I'd say you are right where you need to be
  18. You don't touch the rear diff at all. You simply drop down the rear struts. You rotate the rear strut tops 180* and then bolt them up with the little angle blocks. Leave the diff as is
  19. yes, there is lots of info here about that swap. Do a search and will find!!
  20. Yeah I used an Outback one when I lifted my Brat
  21. Are the tires all the same size? Or are the wearing the same?
  22. The two long rectangular pieces space down the front cross member, and then 4 angle pieces are for the rear struts, you spin the rear strut top around and they bolt right up. He spaces the front cross member down a bit to give the axles more room to move so they don't hit at all. You would have to extend you steering shaft a bit for this.
  23. I like the looks of the one that gos up, but what about somehow putting some outward angle on it, ya know, kind of push bar style. Looks great by the way, very nice work!
