  1. Could anyone please tell me what the vac advance port on the distrubuter actually does? I was told I could just hook this up onto a certain port on my carb (i know wich one), so it does not go throught all the emission stuff that I wont to remove.
  2. Yeh and btw I dont think think Ausie soobs where fitted with an egr valve cause only thing onthe back of the manifold is where that big line from the anti-backfire valve comes from.
  3. When I de'emission will I need to remove the 3 port thermal vaccum, two port thermal vaccum valve, the air control valve and the vavuum valve completely? Or can I leave these in untill I get the time to remove them? Also I never have never heard weather to remove the coasting bypass of leave it in. Abither Q: the vapour seperatour from the front fuel filter is t`ed onto the fuel return line which then goes thru the firewall. Did not you say that that line should be t`ed onto the fuel tank vapour line?
  4. ah i tkink i got it, i noticed those two lines running to carb b4. so i can just follow one these back allong the hardline and i should come to where the distrib is plugged in?
  5. My distributer is curently connected to one of those hardlines under the manifold. Were those last posts a suggestion if I de`emission or what it should be?
  6. Do you mean the hardlines under the carb or actually on the bottom of the carb?
  7. So i should use one of the vacant vac ports ontop of the inlet manifold similar to the brake booster but smaller for the distrib. and egr?
  8. Is the egr valve under the alternator cause i have never seen one cept a black and white photo in manual.
  9. well we dont even have tail pipe tests over here
  10. carfax? like a fax miacine in ur car?
  11. The charcoal canister's retun into the intake manifold? or??
  12. yeh the child labour people should come and lock you up nar just kidding
  13. Dam i also hate time zones cause while I am awake u guys are sleeping, anyway. oi Snowman did those pictures help you any and yeh thanks Aldoat that would be great
  14. Aldoat on mine both the green t pieces are on tubes that goto air control valve, one t peice is complety blocked (one in pic u refered to) cept the line running to air control valve and the other runs from carbi to air control valve with the extra fitting blocked. This seems to be a little diff from what u described as none of em goto the air cleaner valve. Yeh the air preheat has removed cause its never cold enough here if this has anything to do wif it. Should i plug this line on the carb or is it not doing any harm leaving it in the open air? You have goto love previous owners
  15. All pictures taken from infront of car with the air cleaner pushed back. The offending line is only marked on the first pic.
  16. I have a line runnin from the front of the carb that is about 6 inches long that goes to nothing. The place where the tube connects onto the carb is near to this hexagonal prism with a wire coming from it that screws into the carb. And is possioned on the front of the carb(closest to the radator) and rather high up on it. When I put my finger over the tube when the car is running it increases its idle by about 100-150 rmp. I also blew into the tube and could hear a hissing sound from inside the carb (i think). Could anyone tell what this line mite do or way to find out? Any help would be great. And I could take a photo tomorow if that would help identify it.
  17. Yeh I am thinking of doing that but cutting it down as far as possible. Mine is a N/A brumby with a 2 inch exhuast. I think that is larger than stock!?!?
  18. How much current do they draw and do u have them in series or parrallel? I can remeber something about this in my science lessons at school but cant remeber which way it went. Cause I was thinking running two stock fans (thats if the spare one still works), but also didnot know weather to use relay or not (Lots of imformation/misinformation about this topic) and just wanted some opinions. B.T.W Also I would prefer not to have to buy the relays. And could you go into your setup abit further? Also does anyone know the current rating of the thermoswitch? Cheers
  19. I am gunna take my mech fan off and was reading a post that said that the thermoswitch in ur radiator just grounds the fan when its hot enought. Does this means two fans could be run off the same thermoswitch. Cheers
  20. nah the fan has a pulley seperate to the alt but the fan unit has the alt mounting on it with out the fan pulley i think the belt wont be tight enought i could take some photos tomorow if that could help
  21. What do u mean that?Could you please explain that again? I got a spare one sitting under my house and I have just had a look at it but couldn't get the pulley thing off the rod after unscrewing the fan and alliminium cap. This is because I could get the second bigger "U ring" (i think thats what it called) out with my plyer thingies. And yeh the belt does run the water pump.
  22. When you are removing the mech fan do you put a pully inplace of the fan pully that was there? Or could you just use a smaller fan belt?
