  1. so having a complete 86 gl parts car makes life easy then? how easy does a gl rear end attach onto a legacy?
  2. hey guys i'm having a heck of a time finding the info to put an ea82 d/r in my legacy. the search is not working for me, i guess i don't know the right key words to use. anyone know if there is a sticky or definitive thread anywhere? i've given it the treatment of a four inch lift kit with obs struts. now that i have 215/75/r15 bfg km2s, im having a heck of a time with steep hills. seems to me the next step is a d/r i have a complete 86 gl parts car all the other things i would need to get would be a clutch pedal assembly, dash gauge, adapter kit, from another legacy. i'm sure there is something that i am forgetting.
  3. Where i live there are no recycling facilities anywhere for anything. no cardboard, plastic, glass, nothing. used motor oil is used for oil burning heaters in the winter, not even the parts stores will take it. we are to far out of the way for it to be picked up. i pour antifreeze down the sink myself. everyone else waters their lawn with it.
  4. the o'reilly reman is rebuilt in mexico rockauto.com has one for $116 with no core charge
  5. sweet legacy! looks kinda like mine before i lifted it!

  6. the car is already noisy right now i am running dunlop rovers and have gotten two flat tires this weekend. i cant have that happen out here.
  7. hey guys im looking at new tires for my 91 legacy. i live in a very rural out of the way area with -40 degree winters and 100 degree plus summers; gravel, dirt and mud roads and a hundred miles from everywhere. I have been looking at these: http://www.amazon.com/BFGoodrich-Mud-Terrain-Off-Road-Tire/dp/B004QGZC5W/ref=sr_1_1?ie=UTF8&qid=1339379900&sr=8-1 any ideas? tire size is 215/75/r15 and i have a four inch lift with outback struts and wheel spacers
  8. The ecu reads the cam and crank sensors for spark timing. because only the driver side cam has a sensor, it might work due to the waste spark system. i need to think about it for a while though. you are hurting my brain! edit: if you turned one crank 180 degrees it probably would not run due to compression problems. what you should start working on is how to make adjustable cam gears so that we can retard or advance cams without having to get delta cams.
  9. Very aware, it has bit me on previous builds. When i get more time and money, i will reinforce it.
  10. Got the engine back in today! still need to install the strut towers and steering link and then i can start on the back end!
  11. Funny :-p I do think it needs more headlights though....
  12. I just need to get the engine re-timed and fix my shift linkage and then the motor should be able to go back in!
  13. Hey guys Because being a full time student and having two jobs isnt enough, i decided to lift my daily driver, while at the same time, replacing my blown transmission. Progress so far: Got the front half done except for the strut towers and bracing, need to cut out the middle bits, the boss let me use the plasma cam to make the end pieces. Things are moving along nicely.
  14. I have those same tires on my wagon. they work great and i only paid a hundred bucks for them.
  15. Hey guys, Doing a 4" lift on a 91 legacy with a 4EAT, and it occured to me that the speedo cable will not be long enough to reach. Never had a problem with that before when i was lifting gen 2s and 3s. can i take a cable off of a different model? or do i need to buy a gps. Thanks!
  16. maybe. on the same note, how hard is it to remove a lock cylinder on a gen 2 after it has locked without a key?
  17. I have used all 12 subaru keys i have. non of them work. Also the nearest subaru dealer is 100 miles away, and there aren't any reputable locksmiths in my town I know that the key code is on the passenger door, but i don't know if anyone here could do anything with it.
  18. Hey guys can anyone here get me a key for my 84 wagon if i get the door code? The guy i bought it from (my co-worker) lost the keys and was going to crush the car. Or is there some other way to easily get a new key made?
  19. Lifting a legacy is a totally different animal then a GL. I suggest you do some more research before attempting it. A legacy has adjustable camber and the GL does not. Underneath they are completely different as well.
