  1. Also, I forgot to mention, the intake and carbs are sitting on my tool box at work
  2. something with the valves. they are backwards
  3. why does this head look weird to me? i cant figure it out. its off of an EA-81 motor. Also , three of the pistons have a small hole bored in the center and one doesn't. I have never seen that before. i will post some pictures after this evening.
  4. I've hit the stall on the torque converter on my legacy on hills that my wagon was able to crawl up. That and TORQUE BIND!!!!!
  5. stainless steel hose clamps. works everytime.
  6. Im bringing my 85 wagon to montana, and when i get here i want to have power steering on my dual carb ea-81. i hate not having it. :-p

when i get it here i can send you a stock ea-82 bracket if you need one.

    Thanks!

  7. Some of the bolts probably backed out on your lift. Get under there and make sure everything is tight
  8. Hey Bill, are you still making the EA-81 power steering conversions?

  9. On a kind of related note, how much taller can you make the strut block over body blocks when you have outback struts?
  10. sorry for not being specific with the details:-p i do have a tranny cooler, mounted to the front bumper in front of the radiatior. this one : i doesnt seem to have the power to go up hills like my 85 wagon does, and when i am driving around town, i dont like how it shifts. also it has started slipping in reverse, and doesn't engage gears as quickly as the first transmission did. my thinking is that the big tires don't go well with the shift pattern designed to run the stock tires. also, it torque binds like crazy no matter what i do. the top two reasons are torque bind, and the dirt tracks that go up really steep longs hills that are everywhere around Havre. Back home, in Washington, my 85 wagon just climbs its way across Walker Valley ORV park, which is WAY more intense wheeling than the Montana plains can offer. but mainly torque bind
  11. Roll around another six months, and my transmission blew up while i was ramming my car through a snow drift on my way home from work. so that had to get replaced. thankfully, my boss let me use the shop where i work. While i was at it, i decided to put a 4" lift kit on it, because why not we've got a plasma cam and machine shop as well so it was very easy to make my own kit. Things were going great until i got two flat tires in one day, and said to hell with it! i'm buying new tires! That brings us to how Lucy currently sits! For the future, i have a 5 speed D/R transmission that i am going to transplant. more to come when that happens!
  12. Well i figured i had better do one of these threads for my 4th subaru, Lucy I bought her in 2010 for 275 bucks off craigslist. She had a blown headgasket and had sat in a puddle for the last year or so. The very first thing i did was add off road lights. So i eventually replaced the headgaskets on her because the XT i was driving at the time was falling apart faster than i could fix it. Of course i wasn't satisfied with low Lucy looked so i added more headlights and an LSI grill. As time wore on, more fun things happened like bigger tires and outback struts, and a 4WD switch for the automatic Then i decided to advertise our cause and put stickers everywhere  So now we jump ahead a year, i and had moved from Washington to Montana. Before i left, i had gotten even bigger tires, broken out the low hanging lights, 15" rims, build a roof rack, put roof lights on it, inherited a trunk rack, added HID headlights, and installed CB equipment.
  13. my complaint is automatics suck with big tires I've already cooked one tranny in this car, and the replacement is starting to go tits up heres a picture of the car btw
  14. Shift linkages and tranny crossmember pictures would be sweet
  15. Yes, it has the lock switch. and it has 4.11 gears
  16. sweet! thank you! also, i didnt mention that this car is currently an automatic...
  17. I'm gonna argue with you on that one. The D/R is a much better trans for wheeling. my 85 wagon is MUCH more capable than my legacy right now. they have the same lift and the GL has bigger tires. Now, having a D/R automatic would be a cool idea...
  18. did you check BOTH the belts. it takes fifteen minutes.
  19. the bosch 3310 and 3312 are the same filter, only the 3312 has an antidrainback valve. the other does not
  20. well sweet! are there any pictures of the modified trans cross member? and would i have to get one from a manual or can i use the automatic crossmember?
  21. its a 91 legacy. should make it a bit easier then.
