1990 Subaru Legacy L - Overheat, Radiator Leak
Markus56 replied to jellyculligan's topic in 1990 to Present Legacy, Impreza, Outback, Forester, Baja, WRX&WrxSTI, SVXOP should do a pressure test on the coolant system. That tell you exactly if and where an external leak is. A decent pressure kit can be found at your local harbor freight, or borrowed from a local mechanic in trade for a 12 pack, pack of smokes, etc.

Adding cruise control
Is it possible to add factory cruise control to a 91 Legacy L? I was pulling apart the dashboard and i noticed wires for the CC button. Is it a plug and play deal, or is it more involved than that. What i mean is, are all the wires there? do i just need to get the button and the module?

engine removal
Dude. I made this thread a year ago. Yes, as long as all the bell housing and cross member bolts have been removed, the engine should pop right out.

sourcing parts for a dual carb EA-81 *updated*
These motors are very hard to get and the intakes don't match up with a regular EA-81 head. Mine is only the second one i have seen

sourcing parts for a dual carb EA-81 *updated*
My plan is to put it in my wheeler wagon. I have wanted an EA-81 to put in it, because of the torque, and my jelolousy of Butters (One Eye's wagon). So this fell on my lap, and i am excited to see what happens. Reading around on the board, this motor should have around 100 hp? Or if i am super lucky, 120!! Oh yeah, to piss you guy off even more, i got the motor for the one time only, super low price, of FREE. (insert evil laugh here)

well, i want to see if a local aviation company has some of the stuff i am looking for stuffed in the back of their closet. i figure they should, they sold quit a few of these motors back in the day. Something about purchasing a shipping container full of them.

sourcing parts for a dual carb EA-81 *updated*
So, this is the reason why i am looking for parts: Whats that? You cant see it? Let's try this: I have found, and now own, a JDM twin carb EA81! My boss inherited it when he bought his auto shop 4 years ago. It sat in his garage ever since, and wanted to get rid of it. It is a JDM crate motor that was purchased about 6 years ago, according to hearsay.

Hey, does anyone know if there is even a slight possibility to get parts for a dual carb ea-81? Like an air filter box and a throttle linkage? Just let me say, before the obvious questions start, MUAWAHAHAHAHAHAHA!!!!

stalling legacy
91 Legacy with auto tranny when i drive up hills and take a sharp corner, the engine cuts out, until i take my foot off the gas, then it starts back up again and runs fine until the next corner going up a hill. what would cause this? fuel filter? Its not fun when your tearing around in the hills and your car dies

Homemade lift tore my axle boots
It's to be expected. That is part of the deal with a 2". You could drop the cross member, that would fix it.

Tod!!??
no noise = no problem!

Tod!!??
tick of death doesn't do a whole lot performance wise. It just makes noise. General Disorder has a good thread on how to deal with it. http://www.ultimatesubaru.org/forum/showthread.php?t=113431

Tod!!??
leave it stock. EA82 is plenty reliable and has more power than the EA81. You also would have to convert fuel injection to carburetor, and that is taking 6 steps back for one step gained.

front lift blocks
I would recommend bracing them. A lot. Use 2x2 square tube. easier to work with.
