1. no need to take the radiator out, just take the fans out. that just sets you up for overheating problems. 2. don't need a 5' cheater pipe, the longer the pipe, the less torque you have to work with. use a 2' pipe. 3. use the meathod grossgary gave, "use a hammer and wail on the socket wrench handle". use a punch to jam the flywheel from moving.

i always tell the customer if it makes noise, replace it. new ones won't spin that freely and are silent. if you can hear them now, they will definently go bad before the new timing belt does (105,000 miles). and that engine is interferance so don't risk it. what are the subaru part numbers for the parts you need? pm them to me. did you ever get the tool?

<<The timing belt is too tight? (I had 2nd person to help me to put the belt on but man it was so tight) Or Do I have to loosen the belt tension adjustor as its already on tight spot - I didn't touch that when I did the belt.>> you didn't remove the tentioner and re-set it? if you didn't remove that, then who knows what else could have been skipped in the process.

<<I STRONGLY suggest you to remove the radiator!!!!!!!! otherwise one tiny mistake the core is damaged!!!!!!!!!!! learnt from experience mate!..>> no reason to remove the radiator. your just doing extra work. that will only give you more problems if you don't know the proper way to bleed the system of air.
