  1. welcome to the club man. if you are looking to bypass the cats, i would recommend taking it out and replacing it with a pipe instead of hollowing it out. when you punch out a cat, it leaves a large empty chamber that can actually cause a more of a restriction from the air not having a direct flow and bouncing off the sides and what not. i think the magazine sport compact car did a test with that. personally though, i would recommend the use of a high flow metalcore cat. they are a bit pricier but that flow much beter than a normal cat and they last a lot longer. as far as mounting a pod filter, it can be done, you just need a maf adaptor and a low profile filter from my expirience. i think the best would be the hks filter. they flow very well and are shorter than most every other filter ive seen. i actually went with the front mount intercooler on my rx, it wasnt too hard to fit. the hardest part was having to cut a hole in the front fender where the battery currently sits for the cold side pipe to come through. these pics are a bit old, but you get the point with em. the biggest difference is that i have a different intake manifold now. the problem i had with the stock intake manifold is that the 90* elbow i had to use to connect the pipe to the throttle hit the hood and was rubbing paint and such. the front mount i am using came as a kit for the 04 sti. the hardest part of it was that i had to make my own bumper beam for mount the core. i had the center of the stock bumper beam cut out and then welded in some peices of 1"x1" angle iron to make a 1" x 2" c channel then boxed it in with a peice of 2" flat stock. then that was welded to the front of the beam to reinforce the bumper. then to mount the core, i had another peice of 2" flat stock welded to the top of the original beam, then drilled out for the bolt holes. took about two days of messing around to get it done, but it works rather well and seems to be rather strong. eh, im sure ive missed something, but feel free to ask me anything. peace tim
  2. at least you went to the prom. i skipped my senior prom, mainly cause i hate dances and yeah, the whole getting dumped the week before by a girl i was retared for as well. needless to say, i had no desire to to be anywhere near other people at that point anyways. awww, i made myself cry again
  3. that would be what my rx is missing, most likely the entire reason my vents dont work, lol.
  4. man, all those drifters out there would be jealous with your sideways skills. and all that with the dog in the back too, thats style and skill!
  5. havea safe trip man. good luck with everything.

i might have to take back my previos post, due to some medical issues, im not sure what will be going on that weekend. i am still in pain from my biopsy on tuesday, but i dont know what the doctors are going to want me to do in the next few weeks. im going to try to make it, but on top of the medical stuff, i amalso unemployed again, so money is nearly non existant for me anymore i might be able to igure stuff out by time the race comes up. if anyone wants to donate to te get tim to the race fund, lol, ill be accepting a place to sleep and maybe a tent as my car isnt that comfy to sleep in. im sure ill actually figure something out though. but if i dont make it to the race, good luck keith.
  9. and i thought i had too much free time. my next project will be getting over cancer, but the first thing after that will be rounding out my rx project. looks like your car is coming together nicely. cant wait to see it running man. good luck and have fun.
  10. the new impreza looks like rump roast, but the sti version actually looks cool. pity ill never be able to afford it.
  11. that is sexy myfriend.
  12. usually they are cut to length, i am running accell wires that i picked up a while back, set fora v8 so i get two sets of wires outta it. they get the job done.
  13. they need to just get the rules changed so that they can go back to the gc8 rally cars, they kicked a lot more rectalmeats with those cars than they have any other. and they just look cool.
  14. is that a supercharger i spy in there?
  15. of course granted, they are a little out of date,
  16. thn sensors are cheap enough as it is anyways, just make sure the plug is clean and the wire isnt corroded.
  17. so yeah, had the biopy today, i hurt more than i have in a long time. but yeah, they said that it looked like cancer, but i think i am going to wait for the official results of the biopsy. im still going to try to do the cookout tomarrow. but i am in a lot of pain, so ill have to see how things go.
  18. wow, just wow. think the topic got a little distracted,
  19. you have lost your athf privileges.
  20. mine has done that since i built it the first time around, no matter what intake manifold ive had on it, it very well could be the coolent temp sensor. i still need to replace that with the new one i have sitting in the glovebox,.
  21. whats the news??? i dont have the coverage here:(
  22. if its going on the rx you have listed in your profile, then its just a direct swap. i tihnk the only time you need the ballast resistor is when you have a points system in your ditributor. the newer cars are electronic, not mechanical, so no points to burn. or something like that.
  23. i know that wedenesday is a wierd day for a cookout, but i think that will be the cookout just to celibrate the fact that i lived trough my first opperation. i think we will cook some food, and then watch some movies either while we eat or after . looking at seeing casino royale and maybe another action or horror flick. i am thinking maybe shaun of the dead or something like that.
  24. i got a big stick if that helps/:lol:
  25. GO TEAM GO!!!!!!
