  1. sounds like the ditsy shaft is stripped where that little screw threads in. ive had it happen a couple times, but its not too hard to fix. you just need a large flat head screw driver, take off the rotor, look down through the shaft and you will see the larger screw that holds the top half of the shaft together, just unscrew that, find a new one from the junk yard and replace it. its not fun to have to do it, but its about hte only way i know of to fix that.
  2. duplicolor make a rim paint that works really well. i have it on my pugs that are on my rx. ive been through mud, snow and gravel, the paint is still good as when i painted em.
  3. that looks like great fun, wish my old school suby was running. i miss being able to play off road. keep up the good work and have fun.
  4. cant wait to see how this turns out. looks like it will be fun once its done.
  5. well, here be mine, even though its currently dead. and here is my impreza

aw yeah you know ill be there. hopefully i will have the rx up and running again by time it comes around this year.
  7. check the hot wire on the alt, i had to replace mine last year. its not hard to do, just make sure it isnt burned or heavily corroded. just cut it back past any damamge and splice in new wire, make sure you use what i think they call "underhood weather tite" connectors, they work like a normal crimp on splice until you hit em witha lighter, then they work like srink wrap witha gle mixed in. i havent had any chargine problems since.
  8. you would be well off to get a used td04 from a wrx, they usually sell from $75-$200 depending on milage and the seller's attitude. i think i paid like $90 for mine with less than 20k on it. you just gotta look around, try nasioc, there is always someone upgrading their stock turbo.
  9. the idea of running another cooler might work to help with heat removal. just be very careful about how you route your lines and make sure that if you run a small radiator, you mount it where it will get plenty of air flor and will have somewhere for the heated air to escape. i woldnt reccomend just plugging the lines as they do run some pressure when your moving, as i found out when on of those hoses ripped.
  10. there is a chance i night have been there at least once in my travels. i was born an raised in va beach, then movied here to maryland when i was 14. i also have family all over the state of va. mainly in the southern bit of the mountains, mostly all off of the blue ridge parkway. but yeah, ive been all over the state.
  11. dont have a brat to sell you, but if he sells you one for $1000, let me know and see if he will sell the other for the same. i am still looking for one. btw, how far ar you from central maryland? i see that you are in va, where abouts?
  12. holy wow, i was right, it was the plenum. lol. go me:lol:
  13. sounds a lot like a clamp loose on the intake betwen the turbo and throttle body. mine did that to me once on the highway, took me 20 minutes of searching to look at the plenum where itmounts to the throttle body, it had popped out when i was getting onto the highway.
  14. sounds a lot like what my rx did before i installed the larger injectors. i am running the 83 nissan 280z turbo fuel injectors in my rx. that fixed a lot of the hesitation issus i had.
  15. they sell units that i wont have to hack my wiring harness apart? i plan on having one of my stock ecu's gutted for the harness connector and then made so i can plug it together instead of running all the wires indevidually. granted, i know ill have to wire up a few bits here and there, but i dont want to have to rewire the dash, again.
  16. you certainly have been busy with that thing. i am still waiting to save up enough to get the parts to rebuild my engine. i still need to figure out what i am going to do about getting the engine management, i want to go ms, but i am horrible with building electronic bits.
  17. thats not right. i need one of those.
  18. this repost ill allow. that brat is worth it.
  19. hey!! why dont sedans count?? besides, 4wd is fun, rwd is fun, who really cares, just dont get anyone hurt and go have fun.:burnout:
  20. i would love to see some shots of the old school cars with cages. i am planning on caging my rx once i get the engine and rust fixed. then the cage, and body work.i cant wait to get the car running again.
  21. http://www.rally703.com/ try there, there is a link at the top to dl last year's races as well. all in high quality as well.
  22. you must getvideos of this, and they better be high quality too. that thing is nuts, i love it!!
  23. if its a 92 impreza, then you found yourself a very rare car cause the impreza wasnt made till the 93 model year. other than that, 144k on the ticker isnt bad for a car of that vintage. you might be looking at $1500-$3000 depending on condition.
