  1. bucky would be good with a tube chassis, then you could do what ever you wanted to him. that or just reinforce everything and weld in a cage, lol. then you could lift it or auto cross. dont give up!!
  2. hmmm, i wonder if hte guy in va beach has any replacement panels and floor pans in his storage. would be neat.
  3. im looking to get that on my arm once i get a fewthings figured out.
  4. looks like some of the underside of the brat i am getting, its fixable, but its not going to be easy or cheap to do.
  5. nice score. rear suspension is easy on the impreza. just takes a bit of time, but very easy. reccomend kyb struts, the gr2 strusts give a decent ride, the kyb agx struts are really nice but spendy. when you chance the belds, make sure you loosen the bolt on the front side of the tensioner before trying to move the adjustment bolt. i broke my a/c tentioner that way:dead: .
  6. looking good man. cant go wrong with hella.
  7. listen to gary, he is good people:banana:
  8. would look cool if you left it white and installed it. compliments the rims.
  9. your a mad man!!! keep it up man, i cant wait to see the end results
  10. i wouldnt say about $6k, if you have a good crank, block and heads, it shouldnt be much more than $2500 for parts and machine work. ive been chasing an ea82t build for a while but always have something come up when i am about to start, like cancer in my case. but all the research ive done thus far, if you do the assembly yourself and run megasquirt, it should run about $2500 with a good machine shop doing the work needed to the block and heads. granted, with any shop you look at, there will be fluctuations in the pricing, it also depends on what you are planning to have done. my machine shop gave me a quote of about $1200 for the work i want done on mine. the rest of the cost i figured was in parts, forged pistons, stainless valves and high performance springs, delta cams, better head gaskets, and new bearing. there are a few other parts that were on my list, but im being lazy right now. for $6k, i would have my car just about done, top to bottom, that would includerust repair, roll cage, suspension upgrades, ect...
  11. the guy selling it does indeed seem a very nice guy. world needs more of that honestly. just got a pm and yeah, definatly a nice guy. it certainly has been a while since i started hunting for one. and this one is like half an hour or so from me.im really temped to try to call in some favors from poeple. that and maybe start polishing metal for people since i really can do much else between chemo treatments. sofar ive managed to get some nice finishes on some engine parts for the ea82, like a ditsy and valve covers, almost finished my intake monifold, but got impatient and mounted it in the car, lol.
  12. what are you doing with the ea82t bits when you are done with the swap? i cant wait to see what kind of monster you end up with afterwords.
  13. gaahhhh!!! why do you havet o be selling a brat thaat close when i am unemployed and dealing with cancer!! with my last job, i could have had that thing in like two pay checks. that would be such a fun car to rock out. that and your only like 35 miles from me.
  14. i just had chemo on tuesday, i feel rather well concidering. but i think i should have listened to the docs about not eating heavy or greasy food.
  15. yeah, but i bet its not for sale and if it is, for way more than is reasonable
  16. yeah, these cars are definatly addictive. i started with my 2000 impreza and then got the 86 rx. i go the rx for free and have spent between $3000 and $4000 on getting it on the road and then upgrading everything so far. looking at spending a lot more on it once i get over my cancer.
  17. stupid wrong coast getting all the good brats.
  18. was going to say, when it comes to parking, "your doing it wrong!!" id be furious if someone did that to either of my cars.
  19. id say to restore it, its a shame to see brats get junked or just tossed. if you decide to et rid of it though, i wold gladly take it as a donation, . i guess i am a bit mental for those cars. always wanted one, could never get one that was worth anything though
  20. the temp sensor sends info tothe ecu about how hot th engine is running, thus determining whether it needs more or less fuel. when it thinks the engine is cold, its trying to get it up to temp and i think just runs off of a preset fuel map, or something like that. someone correct me if i screwed that up.
  21. check the coolant temp sensor on the back side of the intake manifold, mainly, check the wires to make sure corrosion hasnt set in, then get some crc maf cleaner, clean the maf, also make sure that you dont have any exhaust leaks or intake leaks.ive had issues like that due to a hose on the intake coming loose but it wouldnt leak until it reached boost, then the car would stumble.
  22. your welcome:lol:
  23. with the looks of it, i was expecting a hell of a lot more put down from it.
  24. i got those as well, the look really cool when painted entirly black like i did on mine. i gotta dig em out when my chest heals and get some pics of em on the car.
