if its the hole i tihnk it is, its most likely the little drian holes for the where the spark plugs go in, keeps water from pooling around the top of hte plugs and such, i think

what the crap is that out of? that would be interesting in a loyale though. btw, did i mention that i love turbos? -
it might be hard to find a 3.9 lsd, i think all the lsd's on the old school cars were 3.7. the legacy might have come with a 3.9 ratio, but im not sure. ive hear that you can get the 3.7 and swap out the ring and pinion with a 3.9 ring and pinion to convert it top what you want, but im not positive on that, ive never had to try it. good luck with your search. also, where is your friend going? depending on where your friend is visiting, could determine the ease of finding the parts you want. some areaas have a larger amount of older subarus than others,. good luck

c'mon guys, the ea82t isnt that bad, you just have to pay attention to what you are doing and not be a jackass about driving and boosting it. ill admit, ive had issues with that engine in my rx, but ive also had a lot of fun with it. it can be made to run well and reliably. granted, any ej series engine will make more power and be more reliable, but its sometimes more fun do acomplish something from nothing and do what is said to be impossible. eh, i say make your own choice on the engine. either way you go, youll have a good, fun car. and welcome to the community. -
sweet, thanks.

ewww, gass grill:-\ if you get some heavier steel, make a removable coal basket that sits a few inches above the bottom of the car, and then mount the cooking surface above that, that will preven you from melting hte car. that and it will make your food come out better.

ive had my rx spinning all four tires on dry pavement, and i had 15"pugs with performance tires on em. cought me off gaurd honestly though. it did it around a turn on a divided highway, was turning left onto the eastbound lanes from a sside road, gave it a little bit of right foot and the car just went sideways acrossthe center divider and both lanes of the road i was getting onto, thankfully there were no police and a wide sholder, lol. nothing like a four wheel drift to get the blood pumping, lol. -
Took FrankenBRAt to California SMOG Ref. (PASSED)
subyrally replied to s'ko's topic in Subaru Retrofitting
nice, congrats on that. now if only i could get my brat road worthy, emmisions isnt going to be an issue with mine since i am going with historic tags. but i still want to get the rust repaired. -
you sir are curesed, arent you? as far as the steering lines, you should be able to get an adaptor from your parts store, just might have to dig through the ppul bins in the back, if they have those. cant tell you what to do about the radiator though.

i was playing with that idea for a little while, its doable, just need to figure out the cooling and oil lines for the secondary turbo. that was what kinda got the brain working, lol.

reminds me of a couple dealers here in frederick, the honda dealer has a very old civic in mint condition, all original. even has a sign saying "dont even ask if its for sale" then down the street from there is the nissan dealer, used to have a skyline gtr 34, i think, in the showroom, last time i stopped by they had a newer skyline, basically the g35, or what ever we got, but the real deal from japan. ppity that one looked like crap, totally riced out -

aw man, sorry to hear that, was hoping for more. well, if things chnace, let us know. -
ill second that. granted, i did that on mine when i got mad about the engine crapping out on me, well, i tihnk it just blew another head gasket or something strang in the intake manifold, i never figured it out. did one hell of a burn out up my driveway though..
-
from what i remeber, valve float is around 7k. i think it might have been will that found that out. granted, its been a couple years since any one mentioned that. i tihnk if you need better springs, ram performance engines makes a set. i think they are the only people that make performance bits for the ea engines. http://www.ramengines.com/

RIP 81 Subaru Dl wagon in a firy blaze
subyrally replied to trail_racer's topic in Old Gen.: 80's GL/DL/XT/Loyales...
thats some suck, i say tat you should fix it and keep her on the road. -
amen to that
-
you could always get an intake that allows for the maf and ive noticed that ngk irridum plugs make a difference. that and free flowing exhaust, maybe 2.25"- 2.5" with a good quality muffler on it would help out a bit. but after the simple things like bolt ons, unless you are willing to spend the time and money to play with the internals and engine management, there isnt too much really .

i wasnt using any actual numbers there, just a generalization. but yeah, my rx was still kinda quick when it was stock. not that i ever really had it completely stock.
