Any vendors make front strut tower braces?
bajavwnsoobnut replied to Tachometer's topic in Old Gen.: 80's GL/DL/XT/Loyales...
to say it for Snowman it is worth it I had one that was in 4 different vehicles before I did something stupid and left it in the last vehicle when I traded it for my 76 but I am gonna start gettin them when the batts finaly die in the cars and if you can afford it the yellow tops are good if you use aux lights and such cause they are automotive deep cycles that you can use for cranking and also for high drain appliances like lights and Stereo systems etc. -
and actualy he doesn't drive that all the time and it has oregon temp tags in the rear glass cause the tags on the plates are expired and PRE is here in the portland area I just forgot the name and thought it was that other one I have also talked with that guy alot before and also seen the car at PRE in Gresham on Division St before but hey try finding the exact name of a place with what I can remember as being just performance in the name lol

will a subaru engine run backwards...
bajavwnsoobnut replied to subiemech85's topic in Old Gen.: 80's GL/DL/XT/Loyales...
well you guys don't remember the Corvair much huh the motor ran backwards from what we are used to for the flat 4's/6's and back in the day for to mate it to a vw tranny is to get the cam replaced with an aftermarket one to make it work right for the tranny as for reversed tranny's the only one I can think of if you adapt it to another vehichle is the early VW bus tranny's cause of they used reduction boxes so the diff was sat up to run reverse and to fix that all you do is rotate the diff in the case 180 deg by unbolting both plates on the sides of the tranny and just flip flopping them around to make it rotate fowards in a bug or squareback -
Momo and Nardi aren't just for the new gen anymore!

hey Skip is it that one that you did to eliminate the slop and posted it on EXboard? -
sorry Rob but I didn't see page 2 and also there was a Official Recall on that not a dealer call back
-
yeah even though I havn't seen one yet in person I do know a lil bit
-
well I know who you are talking about he has an interesting setup for his IC and also has a bent rear subframe and I think it is this company I am not sure exactly but might try callin them: Superior Performance 6834 NW St Helens Rd Portland, OR 97210 - 3643 (503) 285-4667 of course it was interesting when I was searching dexonline.com for the ph# that I found this too: Pleiades Performance Motor Sports 7000 SW Borwick Rd Hillsboro, OR 97123 - 3692 (503) 642-1275 and we know what they do don't we?

what caboobaru said and yes it will work with the EA-71's and I think also the EA-63's and such and even my EA-65 cause I should know cause it has one from a ea-81 when I got the car (the 76) and the boardmember that I got it from told me of this and then later on I told Andrew and Russ about it cause of they asked me about it when they saw it
-
yes the 83 and newer ea-81 disty's are the way to go and all you do is hook the 2 wires to the coil and your good to go and if you want a lil more power get a 2wd disty while your at it
-
Northwet just wait till you see what he has in mind for the ring setup it is gonna be nice to say the least
-
Turbone I think there was a recall on the non-watercooled turbo's and they just replaced the centersection with a the one with watercooling and CHIM the difference is a lil bit bigger turbo and also you have an easier time finding a turbo if that one goes bad and also better exhaust choices sorta
-
wait till I am done with the 76 1800cc's of what Oddcomp said and not coke but crack or speed (or is that the same I forget)
-
ewwwwww umm why were you searching for a EA-63? they had problems with being open deck and blown headgaskets and Craig I have a EA-65 which is different and better than the EA-63
-
oh yeah I still need to take that pulley into work and get it through the CMM and I was warned that the CMM that they have is not VERY accurate but hey it will suit our needs cause who cares about a lil dust lol (sorta inside joke)
-
hey Brad if you do go this route I might be of some help and also if you pay for his gas and a lil bit more Oddcomp might just might come down to help
