man guys your now giving me ideas to do with my 76 for interior after I have it repainted and a rollcage put in. In fact I am looking into making my own dash out of fiberglass and using a aftermarket guage pack including this http://www.spa-uk.co.uk/design/tachometers.htm there is the site for this it is a tach with a sequential shift light system and digital speedo all in one !!!

debate at school
yes back in the 70's that was the way for Subaru of America but it is still the invent of the japanese and trhe 4wd system in subarus are unique in the fact that FHI designed it in 71 from the FWD tranny theat they designed (trust me GD they are entirely different in design from the bug/bus tranny) just for a japanese utility company doing service work in northern japan and they debuted it in 72 in the wagon form and started selling them just after the bebut and then started importing them into the US in 75 if you guys want somemore history on Subaru just look for "where the suckers moon" as I posted about lil over a month ago. As for WW2 with FHI it used to be Nakagema (sp?) aircraft research company and they did design part of the Zero and alot of the other aircraft used in WW2 and also produced parts for them and also built alot of them

Well, its gone
welp now it is interesting that the other brian rig has found a new home but I still have the 76!!! hahaha

fastest/cheapest way to gain ground clearance
welp for about 1 1/2 to 2 inches just turn up the adjusters on the struts and the rear torsion bar to the max but that will be hard on the cv's

200 dollar score. East Coasters might not wanna see this. . .
too bad I don't have a digi cam Eric or else I would show you my $150 wagon with a few dents and only rust on the tailgate and the tranny even works! :-p

Rear disks, gen 1. Possible?
just the rotors, calipers, backing plates, the lines coming from it (the first and second flex lines and the hard line in between), and the misc. hardware you took off to remove the stuff. If Andrew brings up one of the turbed cars or even the carbed wagon I can point out what I am talking about this weekend or if need be I can try to find some info in some of my repair manuals.

Rear disks, gen 1. Possible?
russ I will call you on details but it is a direct bolt on for yours just that you might need to do some modification if things are in the way (read Dremel)
