Bet you're tempted to move into a rust-free Cali car now, huh?

Nick's 94 Loyale build
Nuts are welded, get at the bolts from in the engine bay. Down near the timing covers, below the air box and battery areas.

TomRHere's '88 GL 4WD Wagon
I chased a similar issue on my EA82. Best fix I found was to replace it with an EJ. A local guy who fixes and flips Soobs found that it was the ECU in a couple cases, might try that?

Super cool. Have never seen a Touring Wagon in that body style.

74 VW Super Beetle with Subaru swap
Actually, the VW Aircooled engine is mainly aluminum/magnesium alloy. However, fully assembled with cooling tin, carbs, flywheel, etc, it weighs about what you mention - between 200 and 250 lbs depending on options. EA82 engine is 185 without flywheel, manifolds, and ancillaries (alternator, etc). So, fully assembled and dry, it should come out similar. But then you have the extra weight of the coolant - putting the rad up front helps for sure.

7 ish sounds more like it. My AWD Mini is 3200 or so, and has a little under 200 hp - it's just over 7 secs., so 8 sounded high.

Doesn't the 0-60 seem a little slow for the estimated crank HP?

my l series from Ireland.
Nice! I was in ROI this spring, and can't recall seeing one L series - are they more common in Northern Ireland?

My 500 dollar 98 OB - pics to come
Did you put Forester struts / springs in? What's the advantage over the Outback setup? More tire clearance?
-
Waterwagon IV
I found the same thing with mine when I went to the Outback wheel/tire combo!

Sure wish my 94 was not so rusty - would just be too much of a pain to install a lift. Oh well, still does pretty good with just the Outback struts + wheels/tires.

What size did you throw on there? Trimming needed?

Way to keep it looking low-key! Delete the trunk spoiler, and slay dragons!

Nice! I'm probably going to sell mine in the spring, and find one with lower miles, then dive into it a bit more. I might actually look for a 95-97, just so I'm one gen newer. The availability of JDM cars here is pretty tempting, too. I'd love to swap a FT-AWD D/R into one, with 1.59 low range!

So, how many inches you plan on lifting her? Looking forward to more on this!

Waterwagon IV
Not entirely true. We didn't get them in Canada, either.

The trans, of course (although, the car is nice, too - looks a lot like mine). Is it from an Imp?

Where'd that little beaut come from?
