  1. Your disty might be a little sluggish, squirt some contact cleaner in there and the flush with lubricant, I use the synthetic chain oil I have for my mountian bikes cause it's really thin even at low temps. Check you vac lines, might be the cause. Do you have a flappper Maf if so give er a quick cleaning. Hopefully this isn't the hesitation that all the ea82t's seem to experience at one point or another. Worst case it's your fuel pump on it's last legs, On three twagons i've replaced two to fix the prob, on the one in my sig it was the vac mech in the disty that fixed it after cleaning. Good luck.
  2. snow/ice tires are money well spent, chains are a must if you want to get out of the parking lot after a big dump of snow.
  3. Oh man I'd sooooo love to but I've been so sick, Rianna and the baby too. To top it off I'm trying to hunt down the crackhead who stole our DD before new years eve. The fenders are trimmed and bashed, just got a few more things to fix like the rear hatch, swap the LSD over to 3.9 and install, small vac leak, install of remote oil filter and cooler in new location, and most importantly fix the gashes in the floor pan from my last crack at a very rocky descent before they rust all to hell [stupid salt trucks/ocean grrr]. I'm hoping for this wed. which probly means sunday. I won't be dumping dollars into Nos anytime soon... I think [horrible impulse buyer] as soon as this puppies out of my shop I'll have the co-pilot shoot some digi vids as we tear up the local pit.
  4. As long as I add more fuel at the same time there will be no lean issues, and that's easy to do by adjusting the flapper Maf. There are no speed shops around where I live on Vancouver Island.:-\
  5. I've dealt with the cops a few times and he's gone to jail many, many times. Things are a little more lenient in Canada legal system wise. The last time I was told to basically do as I please just don't get caught. I called the police this time too, but like I said this guy has been worked over before...Going to cruise by his place later on [maybe tonight]my brother wants to get em wet and drive him somewhere nice... and cold.
  6. They are very good, I have no #'s, but I had a custom 2" DP before, but the difference with the TWE header and larger DP is huge. Still not dropping any WRX's [i think my tires might have something to do with this] but the mid to high rpms are soooo much better I tached her out till the valves floated several times. Very nice.
  7. I want this guy to stop, the only way this will happen is if he is deeply afraid of coming back or he's... My nieghbor is a contractor fo a large crime org. and has offered his services but that's a little over the top, but something ahs to give this is BS, I don't know my next move but he's fled his little crash pad so I guess I cross that bridge when get to it.
  8. It could be worse, last month my gf's stereo was stolen, the night before NY's eve her car was stolen. I know who stole it he's a crack head and he has stolen from my house in the past. We chased him down 4 of us all who had stuff ripped of by him before but he got away, he's now in hiding and I'm hung about what to do. The whole town is sick of this POS he's been doing this for a long time, he's been thrashed before and now I wonder what I'm going to do. I know either him or his brother will be back, I have a 1 month old baby so my girlfriend is concerned and does not want me to burn his motorhome down or anything like that so he's more or less off limits which is even more frustrating. Total theft to date from one crackhead and his junkie brother $3500+car:-\.
  9. That motor looks so sweet all on it's own. That's my first look at that board, whole lotta FU's and flag wavin' going on my brother would LOVE it.
  10. if you do a search with Home Depot and boost controllers you should find it, I can't remember when but there was a thread on it way back, maybe back on the old board? It grabbed my attention when I read it and every time I go to Home Depot I think maybe I should look for that thread, I think the one guy had some good adjustment levels using a ballpoint pen spring. If I can figure out how to post links I will. Looks like Caleb found it while i was typing.
  11. Still haven't figured out the whole resizeing thing:banghead:
  12. Would have been a shame cause that's tight lookin car.
  13. Yes it would run but not well, the change in pitch was from your turbo? If so that's not good, might be worth pullling the DP and checking the shaft end play, I've had some where the turbine had actually etched the housing and that would explain the shoddy performance you had/have. Caleb has 2 turbo's for sale at 40 bucks each, pretty good deal IMHO.
  14. Maybe a small vac leak/intermittent? Do you have a vaccum gauge, what kind of shape is the pcv system in?
  15. Time to do some more research on this...
  16. How come? If it will lower my intake temp and it's a small jet/valve it wouldn't be providing huge gobs of power, how could it be unsafe other than the fact that i have NOS tank in my car? I know it's not how it's "normally" run but i don't want more top end HP, I want torque down low. I've thought about using a higher comp. shortblock but that wouldn't happen until I fry the turbo block first.
  17. A smaller tubing setup built like TWE's would most likely have more low end/quicker spool times, I'm just chiming in to say... if you have a larger size tubing like 1 7/8" SS already then I wouldn't go out and buy a smaller size just for the sake of slightly improved exhaust velocity. Maybe instead of the wrap around style of TWE a better merge of the two pipes could be done to keep the volume of the header low?
  18. I'm kinda glad the oil filter is in a much cooler spot now:).
  19. I'm thinking about running Nitrous so it comes on just after idle and cuts out at say 1 psi, with the 29" tires i have I'm thinking it woul be real nice to have a bit more torque. I would use a small nozzle as I'm not looking for huge low end torque just a bit more and getting up to boost quicker. Any thoughts?
  20. The headers on my car were red hot last night after a quick rip around the coal hills just down from my house, I boosted above 12psi once, most of the driving was half throttle with shots of WOT here and there. On the way home was when i hit the high boost, I ran through the gears hard maybe 2 min from the coal hills to my house. Is this "normal" The only time i've really noticed a cherry red header was when I melted my DP after running waaaayyy lean going up the mountain:banghead:. I don't check the pipes all that often the ony reason i noticed it this go around was cause I wanted to look at the ps lines by the header. Anyonce else see this?
  21. I haven't noticed any extra lag with the TWE setup on my wagon with the stock turbo, comes to full boost about 2500rpm. The top end is unreal, the difference is comparable to when I tore off the old melted DP and ran 2" all the way from the turbo back with my homejob DP. How much extra volume is there from the extra ID? one cylinders worth, maybe? I thought with the extra bit of piping the TWE setup has on the pas. side and the 1 7/8" ID would have meant more lag too but it hasn't at least not anything noticeable.
  22. That reminds me of a ski touring trip I took in northern BC, this town called Mckenzie is home to the worlds largest tree crusher. Basically a huge diesel on these crazy 40'+ drums with spikes everywhere, they'd just drive over the trees and then haul them off to the pulp mills. With those toothpick trees of the northern interior no probs but I'd like to see that thing try on the giants here on the island:brow:.

    The Cheap lift

well, almost. it's a bit of work finding the right rims backspacing/offset wise, then fender/bashing trimming, if you do these things after you've ordered your kit it's just a matter of recieving the kit and you're good to go. I found the right rims and then put some big meats on them, jacked up the car and put the rims/tires on so I knew what had to be done clearance wise cause if you can stuuf the tires with no lift then you should be good one the lift is in. I just finished the last bit o bashin last night, and the 2 new kits were shipped out to me yesterday. wahooo! I'd order the kit now cause you pay when it's ready and there is a lot of demand out there so it may take a while.
