  1. hahahahahh I saw that thing...
  2. I was always told to never worry about code 12 b/c it is a generic code to show that your ignition switch works. Basically 12= garbage (don't worry about it)
  3. isn't that brown wagon a GL and not a DL. I had a DL when i was in HS (first car)
  4. typical new car coating burning smell....don't worry it will go away.
  5. I got my parts up at Harry's off of a 97ish impreza wagon that had 14" rims on it. Alignment seems good...no pulling or wear issues.
  6. as far as I know my 83 is a NE car. You do know it only has 54k on it don't you? I know at about 12:15 ben and I went for lunch but we got it and came back....I swear you must have missed us by minutes. You should have hung around a few min. Oh well....maybe next year. Put a pic or 2 up if you have them.
  7. Yep the sedan is mine. Thanks for the compliment. dude I am soooooo pi$$ed that you were there and we didn't get to see you. Andrew stripped the interior so he had more cargo room.....I think he learned a valuable lesson on how seats and carpet can reduce road noise. What time were you at the tent? on saturday right?
  8. I'm not going to say who....but someone in a white turbo wagon got chased down by 5 security people in golf carts and got their car kicked out for the evening.... that person is going to have to live with this one for awhile. *cough NKX cough*
  9. might want to skip the beans....I think we all decided to go out on sat night for pizza or something. I wouldn't worry too much about the flags either.. the show is looking kinda slim this year.
  10. I think you can come and go all night but if you don't have your credentials (the stuff you get from the office when you get there) I'm pretty sure they won't let you in till morning. Call me tomorrow and I'll ask when I get there (in the morning)
  11. called "rust converter" by Klean strip. Bottle is white with a red label on it. I bought this stuff years ago so the packageing might have changed since then.
  12. I bought some stuff from walmart years ago to fix a 90 legacy front fender and all I had to do was smooth it out and paint this stuff on it and it sealed the rust up. The stuff worked awesome. It came in a white bottle if I remember correctly. Body work tips: don't look at me...I work OT to pay people to do it for me. I suck at it.
  13. most everything from a dealer will carry a 12mo/12k warranty but for some reason I think the engines and trannys get more....at a bear minimum I'm sure it gets the 12/12 but do ask for us!
  14. what time are you CT folks leaving to head this way????
  15. what we have here in the east is nothing more than a dirt road to some of you folks from the west....that is one downside to "east coast livin". In my opinion I don't even know if I could find a place that good to go to within a few hundred miles. :-\ but in the end..it is still fun to do!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
  16. Holy cow I can't believe i forgot about the ebrake thing like Qman said. He is exactly right and remember this...if you can get the parts from another impreza only b/c if you get them from a legacy the ebrake cable is a little longer and you have to take the slack up somewhere under the car.
  17. the biggest issue is the long bolt that holds the 2 control bars to the hub. They can be siezed sometimes if you have airtools you might get lucky and zip them right out. Just remember the long bolt that goes through them is $33 each at the dealer and the nut on the end is $9 so be sure you don't mess them up. If you don't have a wrench for brake tubeing (it is a box wrench with a small piece missing...buy one they are cheap and will be your best friend forever. Get the hub assembly and brake lines the whole way to the chassis (through the strut mount and all) this is much better than pieceing it together. If you got questions while you are doing it or before hand feel free to call me and I can talk you through.
  18. it took me 6 hrs but in all reality it would have been 5 but the cell phone kept ringing nonstop. I will say that on an impreza that air tools are your best friends. If you had the parts laying there and people didn't disturb you 3-4 hrs is a real possibility. When you put it all together....remember to anti sieze everything. If you ever have to go back to do wheelbearings you'll thank me!
  19. very much so!!!!!! i did it to the impreza 2 weeks ago. Big difference!!!! drum brakes FTL
  20. WELL?????? did it work?
  21. atleast I'm not afraid to show a little leg..... The backs of them is still red though. John's mom cook????!!!!!!????? hmmmmmm Actually i was thinking of maybe a group of us going for pizza or something on sat. evening or something like that. Open to ideas on this end. no suchi
  22. depending on the year of the 2.2 it is 130, 135, 137 and the only 2.2 to get close to 160 was the turbo 2.2 Sorry to disappoint you. BTW, the old 1.8 16v VW motor was rated at 128 if i remember correctly (even if i am wrong....it is a far cry from 160 also) yeah I used to play with VDubs too. :-\
