  1. I think they are having an AX.
  2. subeman90 replied to Roundeye's topic in Off Road
just a little note: you need to have a side mirror. I had this pointed out to me when i had my wrangler....In most states you had better have a mirror on there if you are going doorless. The person that told me this said Maryland will throw the book at you (not that it matters to the W coasters)....and PA is the same too. Check your laws and don't give the Heat a reason to spoil your fun.
  3. just let me know when you and beerheart are officially registered and I'll update the list. Maybe *cough* Ben and Dave can get theirs done so I can update the list all at one time *cough* I know...I know....
  4. I know there are some of you out there that are still planning on comming but DIDN'T register yet.... There is no better time than now!!!!!!!!!!
  5. never used it in an engine...but a manual gear box it works great in!
  6. ^^^^^^^^ thank you for the great information! Now I just gotta find the time....
  7. did a search...where is the codes (list)? I figured out how to get the codes which really isn't the issue...it is the list of codes that I need not the procedure on how to get them.
  8. So i have this 99 legacy 2.2 30th anniv. edition automatic with 59k on it. Over the weekend I was crusing along (not with the cruise on though) at about 80 on the turnpike and the "a/t temp light" started flashing. I stopped and shut the car down for a few (at the exact time I noticed the light the cell phone started ringing) so I took the call and then I went to restart it and the light was out. I continued on my trip for about 30 miles to a rest area and stopped. I checked the tranny fluid and it was reddish but definatly not the cleanist I have ever seen and it didn't smell burned either. The level was fine. I continued on with my trip and got it back home (about 200 miles since the light first came on) and it never reappeared. Today the wife is driving it to work (3 miles and 6 redlights) and she says it came on twice. Once when she was crusing and the second time was when she pulled away from a redlight. She said there was no binding (she knows what that feels like) and that it seemed hesitant but I'm not sure if it was the tranny that is hesitant or the fact that it should get some new plugs here for 60k. So I guess my questions are: 1. got any good guesses? 2. If I pull the tranny code/s where can I find out what they are (haynes=worthless) 3. Flush it and keep driving to see what happens. 4. set it on fire and let the ins company buy me a new one Thanks for any and all input
  9. I don't know guys.....I really like my 99 legacy with a 2.2 in it. The car cruises easily at 80 on the highway and still returned 27 mpg and that is with it needing plugs and all the 60k service stuff that didn't get done yet.
  10. go to meet and greet and it is the top sticky. if you are gonna go register ASAP since the prices go up soon.
  11. when I did it in benebob's xt6 I left his car in 1 and when it redlined it defaulted to 2 automatically and when the speed was slow again it would go back to 1 on its own. Worked great! I think i have a video of me totally loosing it in his car but it was fun (and a little scarry since it isn't my car) Up the tire pres. most definatly. I put my re92's that were on my OBS up pretty high and it did ok for what it was. Most importantly have fun... don't worry about being the fastest out there..concentrate on making good lines through the cones and not necessarly flogging it. Smoothness will do you wonders... trust me.
  12. I think it is going to be great! It is always great to see everyones rides and who knows....maybe Dave can whip up some of that heavenly corn! I think the prices are going to change soon so anyone that still wants to go make sure you register soon! If you can't tell...I really excited about it! Jon: if you need help getting both your cars to and from I'll gladly help you if you need another driver.
  13. yeah they have places to park the trucks and trailers (that is how the svx will get there). You have to buy a permit to park the truck and trailer i think (check the home page). As for showers???? i don't know personally...I commute.
  14. realistically the count on the previous page is all we have right now and add to it ben, dave, and melis since they didn't register yet....
  15. everything you mentioned is needed (not the actual steering wheel though...all you need is the switch that is in there) but you also need the actuator under the hood (it is the 2nd throttle cable on the throttle body) and the thing that pulls on it. Also, make sure you get the cruise computer from a car that has the same tranny. (stick shift computers do not work in automatics and vice versa). All the wireing is there and realistically this is about a 30 min job if you have all the tools and parts ready to rock. Super easy and a great mod.
  16. the deposit is refundable IF we get 25 cars. 24 cars and no way. Who cares....lets focus on the meet.... and having a great time. I miss you guys!!!!!!
  17. Here is the Official post of who is registered: it will be updated as people tell me they have registered. Remember to register as Ultimate Subaru where it says "club" jjou812 =1 NKx =2 moosens =2 subeman90 =2 Rob kuhlman =1 Wagonsonly=3
  18. ***********MAJOR UPDATE**************** Well it seems like we are having a very poor showing here. Well that leaves me little to no choice here...I am going to have to put $150 of my own money down to make this happen. Since we aren't going to make the 25 cars by a long streach in order to have a club spot I have to make a deposit of $150. So here is what I am going to do: instead of registering multiple cars of which you might only bring one please only buy the spots that you are going to actually use. Bringing 2 then register 2 and only 2. Why you ask???? well honestly i would rather have you donate to the "club spot" than spend it on registrations for cars you are not going to bring. Here is what I am going to do: I am going to register 2 and bring only 2 insted of buying 5 spaces for myself. What I ask of you is if you were going to buy 3 spots but bring one then save a few bucks of that and only register 1 and help me out with the spot rental then. I am asking for nothing from anyone here but....if you are willing to help offset the costs it would be greatly appreciated. If you want to do paypal then subeman@aol.com is where I am at. If you want to throw some $$$ at me during the show that is cool too. Please remember I am not expecting anything for anyone.....but if you want to help I will take the help. I think the prices are going to increase soon so if you want to register you might want to get on it ASAP. There is not going to be any BEER there unless you bring it yourself. Think BYOB. I believe that NKX has a big cooler and could help keep yours cool if you ask him nicely. Food is going to be your own responsibility too. Last year we were going to do a cookout and a lot of people were interested but it never really flew. Lastly: Scott is MIA on this gathering. I can't get in touch with him (PM, email, phone etc.) and he hasn't been on the board in a long time so I assume that he wants no part of this so i am taking the reigns on this show. As of today there are only 3 cars registered. The buck stops here! If you are going to come then please register asap. If you are not going to come please don't turn this post into a chat about previous years etc. If you have any questions please talk to me and lets all work together on this.
  19. I did but they are gone now....i had a 70 beetle and a 73 sport beetle.
  20. just for craps and giggles....go to autozone and get a can of STP throttle body cleaner and spray the throttle plate with it (follow the instructions on the can). I did this to my impreza and in 5 min it was a totally different car... Seriously...try it it is only like $5. Also I got a can of MAF cleaner too and that really made things go a lot better for me. Good thing to know about the guy in M-ville....I'll put that guy on the don't deal with list I keep in the back of my mind.
  21. did you try asking that guy in downtown Meadville if maybe he can toss you an idea or 2? I hear he is a decient guy to deal with. If I was comming out anythime soon i would lend you a hand but I don't forsee a trip to meadville anytime soon. BTW, My buddy owns that COOL 101. whatever station out there. Do you know him? And a long time ago...on a very dark day in history I got married in meadville at the church on the diamond with the red doors.
  22. I think any JY will sell you any part you need from the exhaust EXCEPT the cat. Flex pipes etc. shouldn't be a prob. What car do you have that they couldn't hook up to it? If it is 95 and older than yes they can't because they are trying to use and OBD2 machine on an OBD1 car. They should be smarter than that.
  23. see what you can do at the JY. If you can get it there then look into upgrading the exhaust and if that doesn't fly the get in touch with me...there is a guy here in Lancaster Co that did a full exhaust on my 83 subaru for dirt cheap. Akron is in Lancaster Co and is just off of rt 222 about 10 miles NE of lancaster. From New Ringold you could be at my house in 50 min or less.
