  2. sooooo nice!!!! I can't believe that SoG had a leftover 05 for this long...Did ya get a good deal on it? Congrats on that nice machine and welcome to the world of carpayments.
  3. what is this subaru justy board that someone has spoken of? I'd like to go and take a look.
  4. looks good to us... We will be there. John: even if you don't have a soob you should still come. Ditto on the food thing or if you want I can send some $$$
  5. I'd do it and if the motor bites it then go to Harry's and get a lower mileage one and you are off and running again. You know if you want a $300 car you should buy that one that Paul has posted in the classifieds.
  6. I picked it up today at 5pm.... the bill was $360 cash like i said above the only parts i gave them was the oil filter and the crush ring. BTW, the mechanic/owner put his emissions machine on it while he was filling the coolant and set the computer to show the coolant temp sensor while he did it....the fans kick on at exactly 203*. Cool sh%@
  7. I won't do this car b/c it is an interference engine. Think of it this way: I'm getting a new t-belt, all front seals, water pump, t-stat, oil pump reseal, and oil change (I am providing the filter) all for the low price of just under $400. Now on the other hand if i do this myself and screw something up and the valves go crunch then I am willing to bet i will be out a little more than the $400...that is my reasooning on this. Plus it is hot out.... and i'm lazy....
  8. FWIW, I think your car is an Alpine Sport. I have seen a few back in the day and I believe they all looked like yours (color wheels etc.).
  9. my 99 legacy 2.2 is in the shop today getting a new t-belt. It has 60,500 on it and with it being an interference engine...I'm not going to chance it.
  10. HHHHHeeeeeeelllllllllllllllllllllllllllooooooooooooooo are we going to do this? If so when??????
  11. Hey, just so you know before you use this manual... All of the above info is from Subaru enthusisasts who are not experts trained by Fuji in the art of how to jimmy-rig your car with new fangled ways to improve it. Many things here in the manual were trial and error attempts by members. Sometimes the bugs are not worked out. We try our best to be honest in telling you *how to*, but that doesn't neccessarily mean we're 100% on the mark. Bad things may just happen if you try one of these experimental *fixes*. The owners and moderators of the Ultimate Subaru Message Board which contains the Ultimate Subaru Repair Manual will NOT be held liable for your actions/modifications. Good luck with your repairs and/or modifications but just remember...you are doing it at your own risk. The owners and moderators of USMB

  21. I don't have my impreza anymore to go look at but like I said there are sensors in the front somewhere and they should have a yellow plug on them. I totally agree with wanting a working airbag system but if you are in a hurry to get the car back on the road you could skip this stuff for now...
  22. give it a little time to break in...my baja is a little slow but I am writing it off as needing broke in since it only has 1200 miles.
  23. FTW= for the win!!!!!11!!! (it is a nasioc term) as for airbags I think you need to replace the steering wheel part (the one that blows out) and there is a thing behind it called the clock spring...I believe you replace that too. Simple rule of thumb on airbag systems....all connectors are bright yellow so that you don't confuse them with anything else...so that might make finding system parts a little easier and not as confusing. Good job dude...you well on your way on the cheap! EDIT: the sensors are in the beam or attached to it I think...look for yellow plugs! ( and you are going to have to replace them if they got damaged in the crash) FWIW, (for what its worth) you do not need to have a working airbag system for PA inspection.
