  1. 83 GL with 4 headlight system and 4 silverstars in it... FTW!!!!!!
  2. when you unhook a battery I was always told to hook it back up and start the car and DO NOT touch the gas for like 15 min or so. This way the computer can relearn stuff and blah blah blah. Unhook it again...wait 30 min then hook it back up and do what I said above.
  3. those pics make me wish I had an 83-84 wagon or hatch. Thanks for making me sad...
  4. no I am talking about the plate on the baja. nasioc is the "north american subaru impreza owners club" In their OT they seem to have a language of their own.... i won't go any further about the plate... i do get your plate though...i own the movie.
  5. very nice ride indeed! did you make the bumper guard yourself?
  6. the license plate makes me laugh.....i hang out on nasioc too much I guess...
  7. actually I asked him if it had a title and what the vin was and all he told me was "its a 1979" and didn't answer any of my other ques. Actually if I could prove that it is my old wagon (my first car was a 79 dl wagon that was blue) I would jump in a heartbeat. It is kinda unlikely that it is my old one but who knows???? There are too many things/similarities on that car that make me wonder. See if he will give you the vin off of it.... BTW, I was always a steeler fan....I grew up in W. PA you know...
  8. I'd say agressive driving too.....aren't you the guy who hit the curb and screwed up the OB pretty badly???? exactly.
  9.       what? oh and it could be a 79 you know....
  10. you don't know that it is a 77...it could be a 79 or even a 78
  11. the first thing I would check if I was to work on it would be the brake (and also in this case clutch) switch. Maybe the tolerance is set too close and a bump in the road is enough to trip the switch. See if it happens when you hit bumps. Been down this road once in an 85 blazer years ago. Otherwise...you got warranty...let them figure it out. Matt
  12. I'm not really a big drinker and since I am going to commute to the show that isn't the best idea for me anyhow. Also, if it is hot I usually don't drink either because it just makes me feel like crap in the stomach. That being said....You and scott figure out what you want and do it accordingly. Maybe this year I'll go get buddy buddy with the citroen and peugeot people and see if I can score some wine.
  13. Why would you bring the car but not show it? Wash it and wax it and put it in the show area. The more cars we have the better.
  14. why is there a tire in the middle of the tow strap? Am i not enough of a redneck to understand??? Here in the East we just put the rope to the car and go for it (all 12' of the strap)
  15. This is a "classic" car show but you are invited too. Subarubrat brings his sti also. Last year I showed my 05 OBS so.... We like to have a mix of old and new...I am planning on showing my nearly mint 83 and I am going to register my 95 imp. too....I just picked up a 99 anniv. edition last week so it will be registered too but may not make it there. If you do register PLEASE refer to our club when you do it. We need 25 cars to show in the specal area and to get a tent. Anyone: I talked to the promoter of the show at the Harrisburg auto show the other week and told him we are excited to be back this year. He seemed genuinly interested and was glad to hear this. WHEN YOU REGISTER PLEASE REFER TO US AS ULTIMATE SUBARU SO WE CAN GET OUR CLUB AREA!!!!!!!!!1 I'm going to update the orig. post with a list of cars that are going to be entered....if you are an absolute definate please say so and then please register now so that you get the cheaper rate for doing it early!!!!!
  16. I got a great specialist up here near me....Mapquest Reinholds PA and see if it is a distance you are willing to drive...if so PM me for info. Matt
  17. you wouldn't catch me dead at either dealer to be honest with you....especially Roberts.
  18. I just did it on my 95 back in Nov. It is super easy to do Andyjo. If you can figure out the AWD switch this is a total piece of cake. I know a way around the 4 wire and 2 wire brake switch that makes it so you won't need the switch and you won't have to fiddle with taking the old one out etc....and it only requires a jumper. Hint: look at the colors of the wires in the 2 wire sw. and look at the colors of the wires in the 4 wire plug...the colors they don't have in common make a jumper between and poof!!!!!! it works (make sure in a controlled environment just to be safe! If you find you have a heck of a problem getting the vac hose out of the engine manifold (or the square thingy on your engine) there is a way around this too. Cut it off at the engine and hook the vac line into the brake booster line for vac. Do it the right way if you can but if it is stripped like mine was go with "plan B" Your biggest prob. is going to be getting the sw out of the steering wheel. Go buy or borrow the security torx drivers for doing that. When you put the sw in your wheel you will replace the wire harness that is in there (basically you end up with a little extra harness) Save all screws from disassembly..you might and most likely will need them. (for the sw in the wheel there are no screws in there to use so you need them) Any probs. let me know....(or Chris for that matter) matt (BTW...I did it for $20)
  19. we did all the quotes with ins. (so they were high) he thinks the 75 could be taken to the terminal in Boise so that one would be term. to term.
  20. 72 and 75 for the return trip.... also keep in mind...linden is 143 miles from andrew's home. and we are figuring the dolly would cost $100 to rent....and he is going to have to make 2 trips.
  21. it is in scio. I did the automated thing that DAS offers on their site. The problem is that we told them it runs and it does but the brakes are bad so loading is going to be interesting.... See what you come up with for him. I also said about getting a 26' uhaul and putting it inside and going to ID and putting that one inside too (minor bumper removal etc etc.) If he was to go the uhaul route he can't get smalled than the 24' b/c of weight capicity. he could get the 24' and put one in and one on a dolly.... Many options here...and none of them are cheap. Matt
  22. are you sure it is a bad tranny and not a broken axle? I would hate to see you buy a tranny and it only be a broken axle. Check your front axles!!!!!!!!
  23. so may I ask how is it going to get to CT and when is it getting there????
