  1. Ive got a 1986 GL too Great car with the Weber... I love it... Feels quick, although Ive had quicker... just FEELS kickass!
  2. Oil getting in the PCV lines? As youre turning, the oil moves to one side of the engine (if going left, the oil goes to the right, if going right, goes to the left) I bet if you found another "similar" turn (or even an empty parking lot) and mimicked it, it would happen too.
  3. Check your lug nuts... This just happened on my dads 1990 Legacy and then I remembered that the two left tires were replaced recently and took the center caps off and the left front (where the thump was) had 4/5 lug nuts backed almost all the way off.
  4. Lug pattern? Its 5X100 for Subaru Legacy from 1990-2013 Its 5X100 for Subaru Impreza from 1993-2013 (except 2005+ STi - thats 5X114) Its 5X100 for Subaru Forester from 1998-2013 Unless the hubs were converted they should fit.
  5. So car is a 5 speed FWD... Do I need a 1992-1994 ECU from a 5 speed FWD or can it be an auto/manual and FWD/AWD?
  6. Are the ECU's plug and play? Im not really looking forward to tearing into the car more... Except its leaking coolant onto the lower radiator hose... from either the overflow bottle or the radiator, havent checked into it really.
  7. Skidplates Light guards Roof racks Roll cages/Roll bars I bet you could get a pretty good EA series strut bar made and people would want it...
  8. and a completely clean criminal record haha. I'd take one... Go Mitsu hunting
  9. +1 on Primitive. Great guys.
  10. NO MORE SMOKING Just thought Id let everyone know Seems to be leaking coolant from the overflow bottle... maybe a pinhole leak cuz the radiator is still full... Guess this is my excuse to go get parts from the JY I need stuff for the Legacy and for NED.
  11. http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/compatibility-chart/B000C5M12I/ref=au_pf_dp_chart Part number 24614 for the NTK seems to be a good O2 sensor for Subarus...
  12. I guess Ill have to ask them Cuz I found a denso on ebay for like 55 I think... and a universal for 12.... But 38 would be good if it was a direct fit
  13. How hard would be upgrading that all be? and would it even be worth it in the end? The car in all honesty is only temporary... Next year will be a 91-94 wagon, 5 speed, AWD and be getting a frankenmotor and all the nice stuff....
  14. When starting the car when cold the idle surges... goes up to about 1200rpms, down to about nothing, back up and repeats a few times.... have to pump the gas and keep the idle up for about 5-10 seconds (depending on outside temperature) to keep the car from surging idle. So far it hasnt died... just makes it really hard to drive without letting it sit awhile. It also does this after not running for a few hours... Say during a work shift... but its not as bad as first thing in the morning. Coolant temp sensor replaced (from Subaru) Unplugging the intake sensor shuts the engine off so Im sure thats functioning correctly. O2 sensor needs replacing (getting horrible gas mileage) which will be replaced this week or next week (was told Bosch universals are okay? or should I just go with Denso?) Anything else I need to check? Thinking if I cant figure it out Ill take it to GD and have him scrutinize the engine reseal that I did.
  15. Could be the exhaust. My friends 86 GL-10 did this all the time... Does it just happen once or is it continuous?
  16. Multi-meters are multi-use lol. Not bad to have one... and its not like its an expensive tool...
  17. You can cause a short.... I wouldnt do that. Pick up a cheap multimeter from your parts store and check it. I believe I use DCV 20 on my multimeter. Youll want to do this while the engine is running. At idle is fine. Hook up your multimeter: One end on the positive terminal and one on the negative. Over 12.5 volts should charge the battery but youll want at least 13.5 volts for reliability. My reading is 14.34V on my EA82 and 14.3V on the Legacy. Chances are if your car is running once jumped, the battery isnt holding charge and needs to be replaced because that means its running off the alternators power which is NOT what the alternator is designed for and can fry the alternator... then youll have to replace the battery still AND replace your alternator. Here is the output. And it is "DCV 20V" that you want to use.
  18. Come on guys! Need more people to come to this event! Show off your cars, new and old, talk and brag about them. Maybe some off-roaders might find some trails out in the boonies nearby for some fun afterwards? Hope to see more than just little Ned there!
  19. Excited for progress pics I had an 84 DL Sedan briefly... GD and I EA81 swapped it with a weber... BOOYAH that thing cooked its tires!
  20. EJ22 shouldnt have had a cork gasket... Mine didnt... just RTV and I RTV'd it back on... Ultra Grey - No leaks.
