  1. so you want to convert a legacy? or impreza? everything after 96 was AWD. if your talking about an EA82 then the newest you will find is like 92ish. if your talking EA82 then i have everything you will need. PM me if interested.
  2. welcome. hope you find what you are looking for here. i know i did, and so much more. -=Suberdave=-
  3. im there, awesome location. and fun. i hope its nice. but could go for some shade this time. but no mud pit for me this year. -=Suberdave=-
  4. here is the directions from my kit. it is many moons old. but i think its still the same. if this is copyright infrengment. let me know and ill take it down. *edit as per requested * -=Suberdave=-
  5. drove about 50 miles in town today running around. and about 15 on the freeway. went through emissions. passed with flying colors. like 18HC at idle and 24HC at cruse. but overall it went awesome. had to put the stock air box on, the CAI i made was causing it to run a little lean. -=Suberdave=-
  6. i say just look down at the lever and you will know if its in 4 or low or not -=Suberdave=-
  7. !!!!DONE!!!! code 33 was VSS. found out before i got the front clip the person in Japan had some sort of something hooked to the VSS. using one of those little clip things. well, i pulled the ECU and the wire was broke right at the little pink clip. used a good butt connector with heatshrenk on both ends. so now we know the VSS from a 1987 or newer GL will work with a EJ20 ECU... took it for a drive, wow. has way to much turbo lag. but once spooled up it goes very good. tomorrow new fuel filter and injector cleening, than emissions... -=Suberdave=-
  8. i put it on my server also http://www.suberdave.com/subaru/HTKYSA/ -=Suberdave=-
  9. is it possable to swap a steering wheel from an impreza into a GL wagon. i think the GL steering wheel looks silly. could i use the wheel from my 96 Impreza front clip? do i need an adapter or will it bolt on? i guess i will try it if i dont hear word one way or the other. -=Suberdave=-
  10. took this thing out on the freeway yesterday. got a code 33 VSS sensor not working. so looks like its back to the drawing board for the VSS. then i can drive it again. but it runs awesome. (before the light) -=Suberdave=-
  11. on my way out the door now to get a STI cat back Exhaust for it. then i can say "done" not "almost done" -=Suberdave=-
  12. took the wife for a ride today. she started screeming and looking for an "OS" handle. and i was only shifting into 2nd gear. still no exhaust. so im sure the neighbors arnt to happy. but i have an appointment for tomorrow morning to get some. gonna be lots of fun. i cant wate till tomorrow when i can take it out on the freeway.
  13. i didnt have any trouble i couldnt get solved. for the cross member i used the front and rear sections from a 88 XT6 and the center peace from the WRX. it bolted right up. then the front section of the driveshaft had to be shortened. 55mm. then to use the rear diff with LSD and matching ratio. i had to order custom CV races to mate the WRX inner cups to the GL axels. (i have an extra set if you need some or you can call RCV Peformance part# 184-068A) and then theres the clutch issue. thats a whole nother chapter. you have to use the clutch/brake box from a USDM WRX. not to much moding to be done. then drill a few holes in the fire wall for the clutch master. and bolt it all up. -=Suberdave=- http://www.suberdave.com/subaru/glwrxt
  14. took this bad boy for a test drive today (in the neighborhood, no tabs yet). man dose this thing boost some balls. when this thing spools up. you better be holding on to your shorts. kinda loud though. no exhaust yet, just the down pipe. deffantly a little adrenaline rush for me tonight. -=Suberdave=- http://www.suberdave.com/subaru/glwrxt
  15. maybe a little more on what its doing? when it dose it? and do you mean power as in "get up and go" or "electrical power"? -=Suberdave=-
  16. got my converson races form RCV Peformance. worked awesome. i was able to drive it around the back yard. but could not take it on the street yet. i still need tires for the rear. should have them tomorrow. so they will be the same size. but it goes like crazy in the wet yard.
  17. shouldnt matter. i just put a EJ20G (DOHC) into my EA wagon. and it fits like it should be in there. -=Suberdave=- http://www.suberdave.com/subaru/glwrxt
  18. this happened to me when i first put a D/R in my auto car. i thought i had the wrong gear ratio diff. so i got a different rear diff. it was then worse. i just drve the crap out of it. (trans was under warrenty) and it was all good. trans had been sitting for years. maybe something just needed to be loosened up. this was 4 years ago, havent had any prob since. -=Suberdave=- http://www.suberdave.com
  19. look at the MAF's one is a door flaper style and the other is a hot wire. also look where the engine connects to the body there are 2 plugs they could both be round, or one could be squair. i beleve this will tell the two apart. -=Suberdave=-
  20. got the clutch and acc pedals in today, drove it back and forth in the driveway, (no rear axels yet) ordered my rear converson races, will have then on thursday, and i will be done....... untill the next thing needs to be updated or mod'ed (is that a word) O-Yeah i need exhaust also. but that can wate. it sounds good with just the down pipe. -=Suberdave=-
  21. inner DOJ"S wont fit. tryed that. the gl axels are 23 spline and the impreza axels are 22 at the CV race. and i tryed 91 turbo legacy stub shafts. right spline count but the stub that goes into the clutch pack for the LSD is smaller. so that wont work. right now i am trying to get some custom CV races made so i can convert to a hybread GL WRX axel. and i will see about the boost, i will start out at stock and see how that goes. then we may go from there. car is already 5 lug. xt6 stuff in rear and WRX stuff in front. with 17in DRAG D4's on it
  22. well i was going to wate till it was done to post this. but i see others talking about it. so i want to let everyone know it has been done. started working on it 12-10-05 1996 JDM WRX EJ20G into a 1988 GL10 Wagon the car runs awesome. starts up first try. have not driven it yet but no codes as of yet. all i have left to do is the clutch pedal (will get that done tomorrow) and the rear axles. have to do some custom work there. or find a 4.111:1 rear diff that will mate up to the GL axels. (possable legacy) PICS HERE ======> www.suberdave.com/subaru/glwrxt
  23. here is my lifted turbo rig. "VADER" 3in BYB lift, 28in wildcat EXT's nissan wheels with 6 lug conv. and killer snorkle. More Pics at www.suberdave.com
  24. hose from the compression housing or to the wastgate may have a hole in it or may not be connected tight, make sure hoses are not holy and make sure you have clamps on all of them. add my $0.02 now you have $0.04
  25. just got a set of turbo legecy stub shafts. turns out the clutch stub is just smaller in diamater than the WRX. so i will have to find a new way to mate the WRX diff.
