  1. I think Mudrat79 makes kit for the ea82 d/r tranny into newer gens. But I rather have imported d/r AWD tranny from overseas that would fit perfectly or with minimal fab work into newer gens, i.e. outback. Dan
  2. I like that word choice, 6ft or better. The apartment I live here, it says "Luxury Apartment for those are 55 or Better"Of course my daddy is over 55 and I live with him. Dan
  3. Yay! I'm going to Woburn, MA this coming friday to pick up my new baby, 98 Outback! So happy to be joining the new gen crew. Everything went well, paid the deposit, bought a train ticket!!(choo choo) and packed my snack. But I called the dealers yesterday to ask if the car needs a temporary license plate, but MA don't give out temporary license plate!!! And Michigan won't issue one without a title, but of course dealers wont send the title unless full payment have been made. Okay even if I send the rest of the payment using a overnight, they will be getting it tomorrow, then they will the title using overnight to me, and I will be getting it on friday morning or afternoon. Ack, my train leaves 1:05am on Friday...I won't home to get the title...What should I do, what should I do....So I came up with a brilliant idea at the same time an illegal action...I will be taking off a license plate from my dad's CR-V, and putting on the Soobie. If I get pulled over, I will tell the officer that I just bought the vehicle and it is in process of title transfer.. haha. Hopefully this will work out...I really hope this won't cause me any trouble. Dan
  4. We should do something like a group buy, find enough people who wants d/r awd tranny and have one of the importers bring them over to U.S! I really want one Dan
  5. Those wal-wart cans are called "duplicolor", it is probably the cheapest bed liner you can buy(rhino-liner are unavailable to indiviual buyers). You could buy several cans and do the work or buy like a half gallon tank kit(comes with a roller, a brush, and a spray can) then brush on the flat part of the body, and places where you can't brush on, you use spray. Which ever will save you money. Also if you want to spray on the bed of your Brat, I recommend using a herculiner over duplicolor. Probably better than duplicolor but not as good as rhino-liner. If you do several layers of herculiner will do the job. They are available at Shuck's. Dan
  6. I'm pretty sure if you report this to cop, they will be careless about hit and run. If the damage on your Brat is severe and would like to get some cash out of this, then it is better to hire some detective and have them track the license plate number. Since you have 3 of the number, they can run it and find matching license plate and Jeep..Not sure how many will pop up, then you slowly tighten the possibility until you have one suspect..then you bust them. Sue them or what ever you like. Try to get all the money you will be spending to try to catch them. Dan
  7. Man, I'm starting to worry about my Brat not passing the emission test next year. I have recently swapped my carb to a weber and have similar setup as Ed's. But the worse thing about my Brat than Ed's is that my engine is not working properly and still a stock whereas Ed's is nearly perfect condition after rebuild and have a emission guru he can ask for advice. Oh well Hopefully I will be done with my Brat project before my lic tab expires and bring the Brat over here to Michigan hoping the emission test will be less strict. Dan
  8. I want to look at those pictures, but it says page cannot be found... Thanks Dan
  9. Rusty soobie in NW, previous owner parked the car facing downhill....- My rusty Brat
  10. Wow...Thanks so much everyone. Now I feel much better after getting "betrayed" by the owner. I made it clear that I was going to buy the car, then bam "you've got mail" - I sold engine and tranny for $X00, the car is no longer for sale..... I will try to decide if I want a Brat and make it an offroader, or get a xt6 and make it a rally crosser. It maybe easier for me to get the brat because I already have one in Wa. and I'm somewhat familiar with it. Plus I want to create a off-roading club in my college Thanks so much everyone Dan
  11. .....wow....I told the owner of the xt6 I will buy the car and he just sold it to someone else...sigh...
  12. I live here in ypsilanti, and the car is located in Iron River, that is approx. 350mi so total of 700mi. Please help me. I really want to get this car. Thanks Dan
  13. hi I'm still looking for someone who can help me. It is not too late to get on the help list Once my mom told me sharing is caring. We soobie owners like to care for each other Thanks Dan
  14. Hi. Like I said in the title, I need a boardmember from michigan who can help me tow a XT-6 from Iron River to Ypsilanti. I was thinking about renting a truck along with a dolly but, I can't afford them all because I'm only a college student. Of course all the meals are provided along with gas money. And I'm willing to pay some doughs out of small pocket of mine(although if you don't like money, that is fine too ) Well, please help me get my second dream car, that is XT-6. My first dream car is Brat and I have already achieved that goal. Thank you Dan
  15. Here are some more problem...I can't figure out what is wrong... Thanks Dan
  16. Hi board. Ever since I moved to michigan from washington, I made a vow not to buy a project car so that I could dedicate myself into studying. Yet soon as I saw a xt6 sale in Michigan I had to jump on it. The owner told me engine and tranny are fine but Since I do not know anyone who can help me hual this down, I'm planning to take a bus to where he lives and drive down back to my place. I was wondering what needs to be fix for small road trip(possibly 200miles)Nothing major but things that are need to be fix in order to be somewhat safe on the road. Thanks Dan Here is the link to the marketplace just in case http://www.ultimatesubaru.org/forum/showthread.php?p=172575#post172575
  17. wrong link galen...btw did you get your come-along and my tow strap back? Dan
  18. I have done the mod myself on my old carb(currently I have a weber on the car), up side would be, when your flooring your subie, you will feel the different between when the secondary barrel is open or not. It is not much different but it still gives you more power than normal setup. As hti-johnson stated above, the downside would be the mileage, it will go down by depending on condition of your carb. At the time I did the mod, my carb was close to being thrown out of the car....and I got 14mpg...that is real bad mpg for subaru with stock everything(except for the bigger tires with peugeot wheels). i would said doing the hitachi modification is only temporary solution to gain little power. Go with weber, it will significantly increase the power. Thanks Dan
