  1. What kind of banners? Cloth or plastic? What would the sizes be? That'd be cool though.
  2. Yes, Peugeot wheels will fit, I'm not too sure on what years they are, but any 504 or 505 model will work. You may want to search the marketplace for them or try the local junkyards as well. Be patient, it may take quite some time to find a set, as they're getting kinda rare. Here's a link to some good info here at usmb: http://www.ultimatesubaru.org/forum/showthread.php?t=24980 Here's the Subaru Wheel page that may also be helpfull: http://www.ultimatesubaru.org/80s/wheels2/wheels.html Hope this helps.
  3. Must've been one big hit to knock the grill and the headlights off, eh? Looks like you might need a lift kit and some bigger tires next time. Sorry about thw wrx, that sucks to see such a nice car get bashed like that.
  4. Here's another of my faves.
  5. I like this one.
  6. oops. sorry my bad. Thanks carfreak.
  7. No problem, glad to help. Welcome to the board as well!
  8. When I took my 81 down to the Snugtop dealer to see if I could get that neoprene seal replaced, they said that it had been discontinued for quite some time. They said they could put a *new* seal on it that they use for the newer campers though. You could try your local Gemtop or Snugtop dealer to find out about it.
  9. Most of our Subaru Rims are usually 13x6 or 13x5.5 with a 4x140mm (4x5.5) bolt pattern. There are only a **Few** other choices we have. Look here for every wheel that we can fit on our cars: http://www.ultimatesubaru.org/80s/wheels2/wheels.html The only other car company that has the same bolt pattern is a Peugeot. other than that you could do the 6 lug conversion which would give you numerous options for different rims. For that check the sticky topic in the offroad forum.
  10. Thats a sweet lookin Brat. Sorry, but I have no idea on whats up with it now.

That's my favorite Pic as well! Too much inspiration from the vids!! It all actually started when I first saw subarubrats lifted Brat, I was hooked, and how I found here.

Yeah it looks kinda funny, huh? Should I do it to the rear as well? The rear is way rusty at the same area as I see in the fronts.
  13. Jibs replied to Jibs's topic in Off Road
Yeah, mudrat, bumpers are next. The front bumper on this one is held on by wire on the passenger side, so I definitely need a bumper.

And here's pics of Our First Run: Leaving the Yard: Here I am in a small Creek bed: This is where we wheel at, it's right out in our backyards literally: And here's the difference in a 4" lifted Brat and a stock 84 wagon: Ok that's about it, you can check out all my pics at: http://www.ultimatesubaru.org/photos/showgallery.php?cat=500&ppuser=3967 Thanks guys for the support. Hope you enjoy these pics.

Sorry I've been holding out, I wasn't gonna post any pics until I had it kinda complete, but I was talked into it by a friend. (You know who you are:) ) Its all right though, I needed to get this out there. As far as I know - this is the first lifted subaru in Nevada. I could be wrong, but I couldn't find any other documentration, so I'm throwin it out there. Ozified - how many kits have you sold up here to Nevada? Anyway, here goes: Before Shot: OK with 4" BYB Lift Kit: Here's a Pic of the tire I used: Its a Super Swamper TSL 28x8.5 mounted on 14" Chrome 6 lug wheels. You can see the stock tire holding it up there. Thanks to all who helped me - Jeremy, Brian, Shawn, Scott - I appreciate all the help you've given me in this project.
  16. could you put a cruise control setup in anything else? Manual or auto? Would it work in my Brat? That'd be fun to have!!
  17. Hey there's a HUGE lot of snow behind meadowood to the east that is just begging to be driven through!! It didn't look like it had melted too much because of the trees, so this next snow storm might help it! Thought I'd share
  18. You're the greatest!! I checked the console - NOTHING. Floor, under seats, ashtray - NOTHING Lower glove box - NOTHING I was just getting ready to quit and try the socket trick, when I noticed a loose part above the main glove box. I pulled it open and BINGO!! There's the key!!! Thanks everyone for all the help though!!
  19. Getting everyone together is the hard part. The other Hard part is the money involved. Even though your friend would be able to crank out quite a number of sets, what would it cost? probably more than we are willing to spend. Most of us are frugal with our money and thats why we lift Subaru's for 2-3K instead of lifting and making trail rigs out of other trucks that would cost a LOT more. Please check and see what it would cost for a set and per wheel, maybe it wouldn't be TOO bad.
  20. Another Question - will the craftsman trick work on all 4 rims? Or will I need to btake the socket back after each time? Thanks.
  21. Ok Thanks. I didn't search the car cause I was pressed for time, and I can go back later cause I know the rims aren't going anywhere. I don't think I can take welders or power tools in there so that's out. I was thinkin of takin the whole axle setup, but I know they'll charge me way more than its worth so I'll try the craftsman idea and see how it works. Thanks again.
  22. I went to the local junkyard today and discovered something awesome! A set of these! Only problem is that on each tire, there is a locking lug nut. What can I do to get them off? I heard from a friend that you can use a socket that is **just** bigger than the lock and just twist it off, thus destroying the socket. Would this work? Any other ideas? I REALLY want these rims but can't come up with anything. Thanks.

Wasteland Subaru - Thanks a bunch for the help. That helps me a lot. I'll see how it works out. Singletrack - Thanks a MILLION for that link to the microsoft site, I've been looking for that for EVER! Thanks guys, you've been a big help.

I do have a rollbar, but I also have the seats in the back. I was just thinkin of having one put in so I could go out wheelin for a few days on end this summer without having to come back to refuel. I DO live in Nevada, close to the deserts, so I just don't want to run out of gas out in the middle of nowhere. I want my Brat to be a multi-person car - I want to fit 4 not just 2.
