Looking to pick up a 1981 Dodge Ram Crew-Cab with a longbed as a project. I was wondering if anyone knows how or if I can shorten the bed some? I have seen the toyota truck guys shorten their trail rigs beds and was wondering if I could apply that same idea to the ram. I am not looking to touch the chassis at all unless its after the leafs. This would be a first time venture and I wanted to get some expert opinions first. Why pick up an '81 crew cab for a project? It would definately be a very unique truck after I was done and it would still be practical to take the family around to shows.

I just did the ball joints on my 95 Leg and went pretty smooth. Just remove the sway bar bolt, pinch bolt and pry down the lower arm and it should pop out fairly easily. Leave the ball joint connected of course when you pry down the lower arm so it pulls the balljoint out from the knuckle.

I also had an issue one time where a chunk of the turn signal switch broke and got wedged between the steering wheel and steering column making the same sound. Is it that high up or lower down?
