  1. I'd love to come. Pick a date and I'll see if I can make it! Mudding would be sweet - I've been dying to get the wagon dirty again. I can't get in the mud too deep, though, my tires are the suck.
  2. You have HIDs on there? Where'd you put the ballasts and everything? HIDs are sweet... too bad they're so freaking expensive. I wish I had $500 to blow on headlights.
  3. The MAF adaptor comes off a '91-'99 Nissan Sentra 1.6L (engine code GA16DE).
  4. Awesome! Sorry I couldn't stay longer - when I went out to find lunch, my girl called - she managed to grenade her Cavilier on the West Seattle Bridge today. Grr... It was awesome getting to meet all you guys, though! Anyway, congrats to Ken!
  5. Thanks for the help guys. The Subaru is due for a check-up some time soon here, so maybe I'll get the click checked out too.
  6. So, okay, I have a related question. Recently, my Loyale has been making a very light "click, click, click" noise when braking. It seems to be related to wheel rotations. I can't hear it when coasting or under load, but I can feel the click through the brake pedal. I'm guessing it's a CV on its way out - think I'm right?
  7. Hey, if you all don't mind a newcomer, I might just show up. Where exactly are we meeting? I live on the North end, apparently right by Eric. I won't be running, but I'd love to spectate!
  8. Get a MAF adaptor from a '91-'99 Nissan Sentra 1.6l (GA16DE is the engine code). Bolts right up. If you can find the one made by Injen, it's a nice aluminum piece - the rest, like my Weapon-R, are plastic:
  9. Yes. Went from an '94 Sentra that didn't have P/S, and I'm really glad to have it now.
  10. Universal scoops are available all over Ebay, JCWhitnety.com ... um... Summit... etc. You'll have to cut a hole in the hood (or roof, or whatever) to make them functional, of course. A guy I know made a functional roof scoop on his Mirage with a universal scoop that runs into closeable vents on the interior. Pretty trick.
  11. Optima batteries are AWESOME! Just picked up a Red Top for the Scooby - came out to $134 with a new set of post washers. More than I was hoping, but in the end, well worth it. Ripped out the old AC Delco (which never fit right to begin with) and slapped in the big Red Top. The only isse was the tie down - the threaded section of the posts weren't long enough, so I had to space it with some big bolts I had laying around, but no big deal. The usual morning *grind grind grind grind vr... vroom!* has been replaced with instantaneous starting. Also, the voltage drop from my foggies is all but gone. Well worth it! Yay!
  12. Yes, the Xterra and Frontier both have a supercharged V6 model. The Volkswagen Corrado G60 was a supercharged 1.8l 4-cyl that existed for a few years, but was not reliable, and so was replaced with the VR6. Lots of VW guys supercharge the VR6 too. Nissan Maxima guys tend to supercharge their V6s, and many Honda guys put the Jackson Racing supercharger system on their B16s and B18s. Supercharged small engines do exist, but they're more rare than turbocharged ones.
  13. Big thumbs-up to Sylvania lights. I run the "Cool Blues" (which are not blue at all, rather, bright white) in the Scooby and they're great. I had them for two or three years in my old Sentra and they ruled as well.
  14. Holy damn! That sounds pissed! I need something like that on my wagon!
  15. You don't have just one of those 14" alloys that you'd be willing to sell, would you?
  16. '92 Loyale 4WD, SPFI, Weapon-R cone filter, 14" Pug alloys with crappy all-seasons. Mostly driving in moderate to heavy traffic, and I have a lead foot. I normally get around 25MPG or so.
  17. I used 15 ft, IIRC. However, I also ran the power wire over to the passenger side when I had the sub. You could get away with less than that if you mounted the amp on the driver's side. Under the driver's seat is a good place too, if you want a super-short power wire run.
  18. As someone who shows cars on a regular basis (I help show and build a friend's '99 Nissan Sentra), I can say it would be difficult to make any older Subaru into a show car. The aftermarket parts support is more geared toward rally/offroad than show. Plus, as much as I love my Subaru... it's kinda ugly . I would play off the car's strong point - it's 4WD, stability, and good engineering, and make it into either a rally car or a trail rig.
  19. On my previous car, I used nothing but the top-of-the-line Puralator filter with Mobil 1 10W30 syn. Of course, my Subaru is far too old for synthetic, but she still gets a Puralator.
