another Subaru
I just picked up this '89 XT 6, its in very good shape and runs out well. Looks like a clutch is in order, and there are a couple electrical issues to resolve but other than that its been well cared for. 168k miles, awd 5spd w/diff lock and fully loaded.

Do you think it's worth it?
Go with your gut feeling, id love a brat, but 5000.00 is a hunk of change. My experience is when I really fight with myself over something like this I need to step back and think about it abit. If its really what YOU want and not the opinions of others, than go for it dude:grin:

Nice! Ive got 20 of 'em on the way- time for a good wash and wax
Wow! that is not the same car I saw a couple of weekends ago... Sweet! gonna go buy that stuff- '86 Brat wont start in the heat!
Have you checked out your ignition switch?- ea to ej shift linkage
duplicate post....delete- ea to ej shift linkage
I contacted kastleskorner.com about a Kart Boys short shift kit they provide for Legacys, but do not list years covered, so I sent them an inquirey, they in turn contacted scoobymods.com and the answer was "we dont know" but, scooby mods wants pics of my shifter to see if theirs is compatible or not...pretty cool service and a company I want to support, considering I sent my e-mail sunday night:) maybe my ej20g conversion into my L series will have a new short shifter:)- '86 Brat wont start in the heat!
A timing light is another easy way to check for spark- ea to ej shift linkage
Thanks GD, Ive been looking at a kart boys short shift kit for it, and have to get my engine parts rounded up so I can dump in the engine/trans in and see what im up against with the trans x member and shift linkage.- ea to ej shift linkage
Thats potentially good news, so I can anchor the back of the linkage to the trans tunnel with a 4" lift and not bind it up?- ea to ej shift linkage
Im doing an ej conversion on my '90 wagon. I plan on using the ej 5 spd shift linkage and assume it will have to be shortened. Ive installed a 4" lift and my question is how to approach shifter mounting to the chassis. I dont recall reading about this, will the linkage function at an increased angle? or will a custom bracket be needed? Thanks, Mark- EA81 Remounting Alternator Problems
gave you a link on your other post to a fsm http://www.ch601.org/engines.htm go get it:) life gets easy with a fsm- Getting to break down my first EA81
Hey Torc, check out this site. You can download a fsm on your engine for free. http://www.ch601.org/engines.htm- Larger radiator for my EA82T?
Yes, its very feasible. You can have the ej outlets installed and not have to mess with modifying your hoses.- T'sunami Wagon
Not to much has happened lately with all the weekends Ive been working but I made a little progress this weekend. Cleaned the interior up a bit and installed a manual pedal box Ran across this at a wrecking yard in "new" condition and the right color:) Recently added electric mirrors, interval wipers and I have a tilt column to install once my harness and ecu arrives... - 88 subaru gl
