Ok, with the lowering, the rear end is toed in alot. I need to toe it out for autocrossing and such....aka, improve turn in and overall cornering capabilities. Now, since Im being a little lazy today, ive not jacked up my wagon to look and figure this out yet....so does anyone have any ideas right off? Its the GL-10....so it would be a 4wd rear suspension...from an XT to be exact.

No oil leaks from the pan gasket. The PCV valve is closed off as I said, the PCV system is a beather filter and some tubes. No oil comming from there. So...buring or leaking from somewhere else...thats acceptable for now. Atleast its not like it was when the front main seal was blowing oil everywhere, and its not dripping alot onto the garage floor.

Its in!!!!! The rear is kinda temporary...until I fab up something like this from boxer4racing.com.... http://home.att.net/~teaguesauto/interior1.htm (look at the second item down, the Sparco harness bar) Anyhow, its temporary, as in the should harness in technically not installed correctly at all. Its a Y harness, meaning the shoulders bolt on at one spot on one peice, instead of two like alot of them do. Ive got 2-2ft sections of 520 lb tensil strength chain bolted to it, and in turn, those two are bolted to the floor where the seat is anchored down at. Either way, its holding me in the seat 1000000000000000000000000000000 times better than any stock factory seat belt could. Im wearing the car now, not riding in it.

I know that when the rings went on the last engine, i would see blue smoke...and it used mobil synth....But the only smoke I see is the richness of the mixtrue at high RPMs on this engine. Maybe there is a leak....but there is nothing in the coolant other than water, and only small spots on the floor from the cam covers......

Well....ive aquired a Corbeau reclining seat...for free...its kick butt. And in near perfect condition. Just has a very very very small hole (size smaller than a pea) on the back side of the seat in the fabric..... And....taking some springs (5 used, 1 new) back to Muscle motorsports today...i was able to work it enough to get a 5 point harness....brand new. And its all going into the GL-10 tomorrow! IF i can adapt the seat bracket, and make a bar for the shoulder harness. ive got all the tools to do so...I just need to see what kind of materials i need to get, and if I have the $ to get them....which I dont. lol Pics to come tomorrow!

...oil consumption/dissapearage??? Over the 450 miles i drove today, the GL-10 used 1 qt. of Mobil 1 fully synthetic 10w-30. There are no leaks other than a very minute ammount from the cam covers, I thought the rear main seal was leaking, but its not longer dripping oil like it was...i guess it was just left over from when the front main seal was puking 2 qts out every 50 miles.....which BTW was replaced 1500 miles ago with the OE part from the dealer. So...would this just be normal for a turbo shortblock with 160k miles on it, and a turbo with 140k miles on it? Oh and the PCV system is not hooked up, the valve is sealed up, and the system breathes thru a little K&N breather filter....one hose from one side, meeting the other side, teed together, and the back vent teed in, and the filter sitting on top of all that. No oil that I can find comming out of that.... Any ideas???

Just read over the post again.... For rally cross...the RX springs/struts would be perfect. The dampers are 2x as stiff as other factory stuff, and the spring rates are slightly stiffer. My RX rides wonders better compared to the GL-10 abck in the stock days. The springs on my GL-10 started off as 400lb front and rear...8 in tall on the front, and 10 rear. Ive cut them (no torch! Portaband!) down to 6 front, and 7 rear. The rear is basically on the bumpstops, and the front hits every big/sharp dip. I need to replace the stock bump stops with something better. Otherwise, with the camber/caster plates up front, the handling is WONDERFUL in the corners. Its the bumpy stuff that really upsets the car and then its not very fun...but its certinly exciting. The Previous set of springs, Pleiades has them on his RX now...was just about perfect. The front were 8 tall, and 250 lb rate. the rear were 10 , and 300 lbs. The only thing i would have changed was to cut 2 inches of the rears...it was too high for me. 3 inches of fender clearance...where as the front had about 3/4 of an inch. So, id go with a stock RX suspension with some camber plates.

its a 14MM to get that lower caliper bolt out. THen it just swings up. From there you can slide the caliper off its 'peg' up top, or leave it attached to turn the piston back in. Putting the pads in are easy. Putting it all back together is easy. Make sure the notch on the pistion is pointing towards the bottom of the caliper. There should be a nipple on the brake pad for that.

Ok....ive lost my current job, and if it wasent bad enough being broke...its being negative broke! So....if ive got enough interest, I'll post it in the market place as for sale...if for sure theres enough interest... 1988 RX 3 door coupe. White. Has some surface rust in some areas, nothing that couldnt be solved with sandpaper, elbow grease, and some paint. Brakes suck. I have new pads, and fluid waiting to go on/in. That will solve the issue! Its currently Rear Wheel drive...does MASSIVE burnouts. No problem to brake them loose...and they are 205/60 13 tires. It will come with 60% tread or better BF Goodrich Comp TA tires on factory steelies and RX hub caps. Interior is in good condition...AC works, but the vent/heat controls need some work. Comes with boost guage, and mech temp guage that doesnt work anymore. Prolly a simple fix. Will come with stock intake and exhaust, new muffler, new air filter. Runs like a top, only a very slight HVLA noise. Runs on Mobil 1 10w-30 synth. right now. Did i mention that the AC works? Trans works great, D/R is awesome, and the Diff lock is flawless. LSD is STRONG. Oil leaks? Where? I cant find any! Hatch has some rust...rear wiper is non existant, 3rd brake light and rear defrost does not work. The owner before Pleiades brutally slashed the wires on the gas strut units. I do have a complete and fully functional rear hatch in better condition avalible. Suspension is very solid. Handles great on the BFGs. $1200. Negotiable depending upon how you would like it delivered to you. RWD, AWD, new hatch/old hatch...etc.... Any interest?
