The perfect centre diff (in theory)
WJM replied to ausubaru92's topic in Old Gen.: 80's GL/DL/XT/Loyales...
the DCCD-B 05+ STi center diff is about as close as you can get to that. -
Easy way to remove crossover pipe?
WJM replied to TROGDOR!'s topic in Old Gen.: 80's GL/DL/XT/Loyales...
i never had to do that....just ahve the front end jacked up about 2~3 ft up...and the RF tire off the car...and then you can rotate the header into the 'just so' position and it will slide right out. Ive done that countless times. a WRX on the otherhand...you do need to jack dat chit up to do the up-pipe. -
So....WJM is bored. At some point...I'll be cutting up a new aquired GL-10 sedan to fix the RX...then building an engine...then making the air/water intercooler setup work...and then I'll be autoxing again. Yay. But until then...WJM is bored. WJM will also be taking some of the parts from that automatic GL-10 and putting some of those bits back on the GL-10 WAGON and bring it back to life...after I find a proper 4EAT, an engine...and stuffs... For now...I am bored. What aggrivates me is that no one knows if an EJ 5spd front diff is similar/same as EA82 5spd front diff....I guess no one has compared the two at all..... Another thing is that it seems as if no one has an XT6 4wd 5spd transmission crossmembers.... That and im just bored...maybe I should go eat some pizza. Well....i guess I should enjoy driving an RS in STS in Peru Indiana next weekend at the National Tour, and driving Templar's WRX back up to him tomorrow (EJ257, AEM w/Anti-Lag and Launch control, custom 18G turbo, custom steering rack - 2.2 turns lock to lock, D2 racing coilovers, many adjustable suspension bits...etc etc...) mmmmmm......pizza.

update: the bushings have been ordered as of the beginning of this month...ETA is unknown as they are not in stock and are MAKING THEM as we speak....then they get shipped from OZ to Global (dunno where they are but they are the distributor here in USA for Whiteline and SuperPro) and then to us. I'll keep you guys updated as I get information.

the leading rod bushings are the bushings that are at the end of the rod that runs from the control arm back to the body...the bushings are on the body end in that bracket on the rod. They are easy to replace. Hopefully....all those superpro bushings i ordered will be in soon and I'll be installing all new polyurethane bushings everywhere on the RX.

Those are excellent wires. Alot of the new subie owners with 2.5 RS's use them and they are really nice wires. $138? Not for me. I'll stick to the $20 OE set from SUBARU. -
RWD would be quite fun. 4WD is best tho.

you know what anti-lag is...right? well, I will be doing that with the RX if I run it in StreetMod class...otherwise, no Anti Lag for Street Prep classes... However, Launch control is legal in SP... Launch control: basically a revlimiter at a set RPM, on-off controled by the clutch switch. So...its sort of a 'fool proof' launching method. The most consistant launch method (supposidly....but Ive never missed a beat with my launches so i might not use it....but I WILL with the combination of antilag/large wide butt tires and so on...) and lots of people are using it now and it is a common feature on AEM, Hydra and so on...the big name standalone EMS stuff. comination of AL/LC with larger turbo and 335/35/17 race tires=full boost (somewhere around 20~30 PSI depending on turbo and the rest of the setup)upon launch at about 5k. Right now tho...no AL/LC until the off season when i start to develop it properly.
