  1. veddy nice. i was looking at those tires too for my leggy, but i ended up going with trail mark radial AP/Rs
  2. i did that once at the garage i worked at. i felt like a moron. however, the oil and tranny drain plugs look VERY similar.
  3. after viewing the rest of the picture in the gallery, i retract my previous statement.
  4. it might just be my training as a graphic designer, but that looks rediculously photoshopped. it may just be the low resolution/poor quality aspect of it, but i don't trust it off-the-bat.
  5. here's your 100% answer: the 16 AT TEMP blink at startup indicates that the last time the car was on there was no power to the Duty C solenoid which controls the AWD. 1. check your connections (if you want) 2. get a new one.
  6. my oppinion (because i know you care): Do one of two things; leave the covers off or add 2 more lights. with the covers on it looks like mickey mouse. but other than that, i give you a rousing dacing banana
  7. they changed the way HP is rated late last year so the numbers will look a few HP low. After the change the STi went from 300hp to somewhere in the 290's but was the identical car.
  8. so.. specs: 96 legacy LS no tweeter kit, came with a tape deck/AM/FM now has a CD head unit (that's nothing special, it's been installed for about 3 years with no problems) my rear speakers blew out. all sorts of cracking and snapping with any base that a song or a DJ's voice may have, so i've been running everything through the front 2 speakers.. and "what's his name's" Law has taken affect and the reaction of pushing everything through the front 2 speakers is having an equal and opposite reaction and now the fron 2 are starting to go. now, i don't want anything special, basically just replacement speakers. a set of 4 would be nice, the 2 in the rear and the 2 in the front. does anyone know what i should be looking for? size? brand? is there a compatability issue i need to worry about, or are speakers all the same when it comes to wiring (aside from humongus ones that need an amplifier)? any help would be appriciated. (oh, and sorry for not being around at all. been working full time while trying to find another better job)
  9. Pittsburgh? BeaveRun? North Park?
  10. i wasn't arguing, just questioning. but thats the clearest i've heard it explained.
  11. the legacy should be 4.11 gearing. if not 4.11, then 3.9. i'm not sure what the forester is, but i'm sure it's not hard to find out. also, i have the understanding that from a stop the mid 90's automatic models begin in a 60/40 split and move into a 90/10 split when a coasting speed is reached. i don't know much about the newer AWD systems from subaru, however i do know that my wife's cr-v with the "real-time" awd begins and runs with a 100/0 split UNTIL a slip occurs.
  12. i'm questionable about the force awd in 1st... force it to do what? 50/50? if that's the case, why doesn't the car hop like it does with the awd override switch that andyjo wrote up last year?
  13. YAY BODY ROLL!!! this is AT 44psi. all things concidered, you may have me beat though. Also, yeah. you'll normally always see your times get better every run. i tend to shave anywhere from 1.5 to 2 seconds on my times each heat.
  14. my 96 legacy runs H Stock, especially with my oversized tires. Once, i took my seats out to help with accelleration and they bumped me to STS!
  15. could you imagine a 6 digit ODO rolling over?? i think that may cause a rift between time and space and whatever Twinkie analogy was used in Ghostbusters
  16. my 96 has 123k and it's a tired tired engine. i'd be suprised if it got to 170k
  17. yes. if she wants second oppinions and other POV's, she need to come over here, not us go to her.
  18. since Speed stopped carrying WRC, does anyone know where i can get my rally fix without having to sit in front of my computer?
  19. hey nips...how about it's a my2000. if it's still on the original battery, it's not going to be able to handle the cold as well as a fresh one. I'd say if the battery hasn't been replaced, do that first. it's one of the cheapest things you can do to prevent a cold no-start.
  20. mine tastes like burning after being in high RPMs for a few seconds while going much slower than the wheels are spinning. long story short, heavy snow and ice + open lot + good times = burning smell. oh, and the engine leaks like a siv. around a quart per 1k
  21. MAF = Mrump roast Airflow Sensor. It's replaceable on my 96 Legacy. you just take it out and put a new one in.
