  2. still looking, or is there something else that i can do to lift the front end like 3inches , the air susp went so i went to regular springs/shocks in the rear , struts /springs in the front all were from an 88 4wd d/r wagon, but the front end sits aleast 3 inches low the back end looks good , any help ? thanks

  5. yes the deals are out there , and i seem to find them , i just got a 3 door gl 1986 cheap, also got a good deal on tires at wal-mart ,15 bucks ea 185-70r13s new, goodyears . thanks
  6. i found a awd a/t legacy wagon with 213,000 miles ,some rust on fenders, alittle on back wheel wells, new tires, new front / back brakes, new fan belt, timming belt, water pump, oil leak fixed, headgasket , ac works, all drive axles good, exhaust is the only thing i saw needing replaced soon, he wants 1500 bucks , is it worth it ?
  7. bump, i found a dl s/r 4wd 5sp wagon ,would it have front adjustable struts ?
  8. here is what i have , 86 spfi fwd a/t sedan, 88 dl d/r wagon, 88 tubo full time 4wd a/t wagon, all of these run better on shell 87 octine , if we buy maybe cheaper gas not always , we get aleast 2mpg less , on each car , but here again other board members have there own opinion , here in western ohio gas is 158.9 , columbus oh 154.9
  9. i need a good online store which has front adjustable struts ,for my 88 full time 4wd a/t turbo wagon , thanks
  10. check all coolant lines, here is 1 that can leak remove spare tire and look towards headlight ,there is a small 1/2 in hose that is about 5-6 in long that can leak ,and run down just like you said or heater hoses
  11. alot of board members have there own opinion , i have tried a few products , it seems to help some , and i have seen some that seem to really work, some of the products cost alittle more $$$ than others , mmo seems to do a pretty good job and is cheap and has been around for along time , there is also X-1-R ,which i have seen work good, , i guess if the stuff that you are looking at is fairly cheap then use it , and report back here with you findings , but i think by using a good oil/ filter and change it every 3,000mi or less is still the best thing , now people have there own opinion again on brand of oil .
  12. yes get in touch with alleyboy , and send me a private message and i will come over and help ,i have some turbo parts + a hole turbo motor with a blown headgasket but alot of good parts , maybe even miles fox could help ,alittle drive for him from ft.wayne IN,
  13. found a place close by that rebuilds alts , what is the cost ? and are they good as new ? i have several bad ones ,
  14. my dl spfi d/r 4wd wagon did the same thing ,i advanced the timming to 22degrees , under the hood it says +or - ,2 degrees , it fixed my problem ,just my .2
  15. my slow charge is 15amp , boost is 60amp , i have it on 15amp , i checked with autozone and they said they would replace it free if the battery is junk , so tomorrow after charging it all night i will unhook it in the morning and try to start it 4-5 hours later , thanks all
  16. i only charged it up for 15-20 min on slow charge , and fired up the car ,and drove it 10-15 miles ,so maybe charge it up longer
  17. the answer to both questions, it is not a new alt , it is a sealed battery from autozone , it is about 1 year old, , the connections are good ,also the alt belt is tight , later on today i will go and buy a new battery , but before that i will have the battery tested ,thanks
  18. i think in 1990 the indiana plant started up ,i have toured , before the v6 came along if i am right the forester is still made in japan , so no pics of the plant
  19. on going problem, on a 86 spfi a/t fwd sedan, i changed my alt which it was bad, the battery was dead ,so i charged it up , hooked it up ,the can ran fine battery gauge was 12v, i drove it 10mi or so , i went out a few hours later to start it , no start , dead battery , the battery is 1 year old, now for my heater problem i ran a wire from the gree/white wire to the fuse box [ cig fuse] ,fan work good , would there be anything else causing the dead battery problem ? or are the 2 problems related ?
  20. under the passenger seat
  21. it could be ,the heater hoses right below the spare tire are bad or leaking
