-
my 84 brat has a nice weber on it , but boy what pain in the butt to get started , to much gas will flood it ,not enough it will not start , i know webers are nice and gaining extra hp, mpg, but is it worth it ?

-
today i switched over to amsoil 10w-40 , cost like 5.85 qt ,but you can drive 10,000mi between changes , but change the filter every 5,000mi , wednesday i am going to check into royale purple , there is 1 place i know sells it ,
-
well i went ahead and got some and changed the oil, 10w-40 , i got a extra qt in case i need it , also there is royal purple , which is like 7-8 bucks a qt , i will post any changes , mpg etc... they say increase in mpg ,
-
i am thinking about using it , 5.75 a quart , will it leak more since my 88 dl 4wd wagon does drip alittle ? and they say you can go 5,000mi between oil changes , will i notice anything right off ? or will it take a few oil changes ? like better mpg ? sound better etc.. i know about the oil test thing and oil filter, i have wix filters ,

How much rust before a Subaru is unsafe?
86subaru replied to sidekickin's topic in Old Gen.: 80's GL/DL/XT/Loyales...
what people on the west cost must remember is that almost all subaru's in the 80s or older in the midwest will have rust ,so we must put up with it , if your a good body man then you could always fix it up , or just keep looking like i did until you find a rust free one , welcome to the board , if you go to the meet and greet section we are going to have a meet in the spring in columbus, ohio -
i agree with the first reply , i had a 2000 ob took it to a quick lub place and they mixed up the oil filter and tranny filter , but they caught there mistake no damage done, i understand about having 2 kids etc... we sold our 2000 ob and now she drives a 88 full time 4wd a/t turbo wagon ,96,000mi on it now, and i sometimes worry about when my wife takes a longer trip ,just her and the kids , but so far after 8 months her turbo wagon runs and drives great , most subaru dealers take care of there customers , just my .2

a few question, 1 how much was the cat from autozone ? and part# 2- so you have a straight pipe running down from the motor ? i call it a big foot ball of course it is curved which is taken out ? also how much less is the temp of the motor ? any increase in mpg ,hp , the black paint will it slow up any rust ,which does eat away exhaust ? i like what i see ,
