  1. yes it did have the little hole in it ,and it said 192 degree , but you are right ,about oem type , thanks
  2. went out today to check it out, first off it was set for -30 which means to much pure coolant , , so i drained out radiator 1/2 gal aleast , added water , started it up drove it, the thermostat open up about 3/4 of the way on the temp gauge and opened and closed normally , i am going to let it set ,and strat it again and see where it opens again
  3. i could have put to much pure coolant in , i will drain some out and put in water , and try it then , coolant temp sensor is new from dealer ,just went out and the over flow is over flowing after i shut the car off ?
  4. the old thermostat was bad ,because the temp gauge would not even go 1/4 of the way up , yes all fluids were topped off , i think i will replace it again , 2 months i did this ,napa type , 192 degree , so maybe 180 would be better ?
  5. i replaced the thermostat in my 88 dl spfi d/r wagon from napa 192 degree , when i start it up and drive 5-6 miles the temp gauge goes up into the red before the thermostat opens up , then it is ok and goes into the center of the temp gauge and stays there , my question is , is the thermostat sticking ? or should i replace it ?,[ it stays in the red for 5-10 seconds ] thanks
  6. ok, i already have accell coils ,for the last year and no problem , if i remember right blaster coils cost alittle more than accell , and i gapped my plugs like .45
  7. when using a blaster 2 what are the plugs gaped at ,.45-.50 ?? like the accell
  8. i will not, i had a bid on a item and a fellow board member ran it up and got it ,
  9. make up your own wires up , from autozone ,accell wires 40 bucks i think ,and may be enough left over to do another set
  10. sorry to hear this, our family swiched to subaru in 1997, we had a 1997 outback ,great car, then we had a 2000 outback , which did have the hg problem , no problem dealer fixed it [ free] we sold the 2000 outback to a family member , we both drive [ wife + myself] she drives a 88 turbo full time 4wd a/t wagon, [98,000mi] i drive a 88 dl 4wd 5sp d/r wagon [ 180,000mi ] , i also have a 84 brat ,which rund great [not rusted out] , my point is no car mfj is prefect , and our family will keep on buying subaru's
  11. i have the same thing going on ,on mine, where do you get your gas at ? same place all the time or cheapest place ? i have heard that ky has very cheap gas, some board members will say there is no difference in gas ,but there is , aleast around here , also remember you are warming up your car since it is cold out , , but the other suggestions are true also

  16. well skip maybe there is none on his , [ missing] a few months ago you told me that my 1986 fwd a/t sedan is not spfi , which it is ,and they did make them in 86 only in a sedan and only in fwd ,

  21. well what i have decided to do is run my h-style rims which are all 4 the same size and wear, hay pat got my 3 door all fixed up and running , now have to make a decision , i have to sell aleast 2 of my subaru's , sell 3 door, and fwd sedan
  22. yes all 4 tires are new ,and all are the same size , just different tread design , spring is just around the cornor , i will only run it in 2wd , with the same 2 tires on the front , the tires on the rims are real nice and are coming off a 2wd a/t sedan , thanks
  23. AND YES I DID A SEARCH , can you run different brand name tires same size but just different brand name ? 185-70r. 13s , [all 4] i am thinking like same brand name in the front and the same brand back ? thanks
