  1. i found my xt turbo sitting at a garage with no tags on it , got it for 75 bucks with a bad tranny , my rust free dl wagon was found by a friend of mine 85 bucks, , another xt4 [hg] 50 bucks but alittle drive, other 2 was found when i broke down in my semi
  2. that is what i said , use extend on rust , the stuff from wal-mart is a undercoating only .
  3. it is mar- hyde , rubberized undercoating from wal-mart 18oz can , repels water, prevents rust, deadens sound, flexible, red can black cap
  4. mine went bad on a wagon that i sold , and it ran fine after i changed it, mine was all rusted out and leaking gas
  5. yes it is like a rhino liner , , make sure you spray it on , on a warm day and no wind, and about 12in away , it will take 1-2 days to dry ,depends on how thick you spary it on , but only put it on the underneith , extend work on rust, i did my 88 dl d/r wagon , which had no rust and i wanted to keep it that way
  6. i used stuff from wal-mart 3.50 a can , also for rust i use extend from low's , 1 can under coating from wa-mart will do the job , real thick and black
  7. flush the system out, check all other fluids, or change them , oil, rear diff,front diff, take the rubber little stoppers off the timing covers and check the timing belts, give it a tune up , just my 2 cents
  8. still have the problem , the motor will die after start up , changed coolant temp sensor , but still get codes coolant sensor , any suggestins ? maybe timming off ? broken wire ?
  9. i am thinking about putting a throttle pull type thing , so aleast i can warm it up , after it warms up it is fine , or any other suggestions ?

  11. went and got coolant temp sensor, 68.00 bucks 2 hr drive, still did not fix problem , car will start then die ? code maf sensor + coolant temp sensor

  13. any cross refference ? would any other coolant temp sensor from another car work ?? thanks
  14. called autozone 100 bucks special order not in stock , well i do have a spare 1 so i will use it

  16. found out my problem with my dl it is the thermo sensor , does autozone carry them ? or napa? advance ?
  17. my 86 spfi a/t sedan leaks very little oil , 1/2 qt 3,500 maybe , 81,000mi ,great car
  18. that would be my guess , same thing on my turbo a/t full time 4wd wagon
  19. got it running good, i put eveything back like it was , the silver thing that is screwed onto air box and then the maf sensor , i changed both and it ran real bad , so i put the old one back on , all good
  20. ok, before i changed the maf sensor the car ran pretty good very little surging , i put the old 1 back on and now it is worse
  21. also when i unplug the maf sensor it does not affect anything ?
  22. well did not burn the dl to the ground , it starts good, then after 5sec it stalls , restart it does the same thing , 3rd time it will stay running , bad surging after that ??
  23. vegetable soup , chips, pop, coffee, will be served , also wrenching, fixing dl, springs on turbo wagon, scrap and strip xt,
  24. my 86 spfi a/t fwd sedan 81,000mi,24mpg city , 88 dl 180,000mi d/r 5sp 24 mpg city, 88 turbo a/t full time 4wd wagon 20-21 mpg city, also all gas is not the same , if i use shell gas ,all my subaru's get aleast 2-3 mpg more , but other board members may disgree
