my 86 spfi a/t fwd sedan 81,000mi,24mpg city , 88 dl 180,000mi d/r 5sp 24 mpg city, 88 turbo a/t full time 4wd wagon 20-21 mpg city, also all gas is not the same , if i use shell gas ,all my subaru's get aleast 2-3 mpg more , but other board members may disgree

thanks tom, if i unplug the maf sensor it makes no difference ,i have alot of spare sensors etc... so we should be able to get it running , before i screwed with it it ran pretty good and good mpg , just a slight surging the first mile or so then it was great , -

cleaned the ivac valve , no change , all vacuum lines are good, it was alittle dewy this morning , a very bad surging problem now in the morning , this afternoon is started ok then quit , while ideling you could hear the surging , i have given up , any suggestions ,before I BURN IT TO THE GROUND -

i changed the coolant temp sensor ,no difference , i 'll go out and check all vacuum lines again , anything else that might cause it ? -

also it was running ok, until i messed w/ the maf censor and changed it , but i put the old 1 back in ,because it would not stay running , -
well the seats, doors, glass, fenders , hood, rims -tires, headlights, the motor will work and fit but there is a wirring harness difference between a gl-gl10 turbo

it is a 88 gl spfi d/r 4wd wagon , it will start good ,then after a few seconds it will die , after doing this a few times it will stay running and warmes up , all this is after it sits and the motor is cold , any suggestions ? if so location of the problem

i went to change it out, and must of some how pulled the wires loose , it runs pretty good now ,are all maf censors the same in spfi? because the ones i have there are different part #s on them

ok, hey can you get me the rear springs / shocks bolts from any ea82 wagon drivers side ?

or alittle cheaper , 2in pipe from cat back, ngk plugs, accell coil, k-n filter , bottom of air box cut out, new dist cap, rotor , 8mm wires, -

you can take out the bottom of the air box , which i did on my full time 4wd turbo a/t wagon , it's hard to tell if it helps because i did alot of other things, will give it a cool sound , i also put in a k-n filter , accell coil, ngk plugs, cat mod, and using dura blend castrol 10-w-30 , about 24mpg city, 28mpg hi -
well on my 88 turbo full time 4wd a/t wagon , the front drivers side had a hole in the bag so i replaced both fronts, now the back is leaking all the time , so i am going to replace the back with regular springs and shocks , because i have burned out 2 alt's , it is a real pain , alittle o- rings, which auto zone has a pk with 1 in it , good luck

i have a chance to get a xt6 , will a single range tranny that is already in an xt fit and work in an xt6 ? are the xt6 ' s motors the same as regular ea82 motor ? like timming belts, water pumps, etc...
